The smell is raisins and spice - before tasting this beer you know it’s good. No disappointment here - this beer delivers a very full flavour up front, a lot of hops, and an almost Abbey quality that lets you savour it more than a simple pale ale. Apples hidden somewhere not too far beneath. Mouthfeel is a bit thin, and you can sense the hops trying to make up for it. Despite the thinness, this is definitely one to try. A good beer to savour, and at this price, thankfully easy to take your time with! Would absolutely recommend. darn1207 (548), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 16, 2009 11.5oz bottle from greens in atlanta (I think). Interesting look for an ipa - a murky dark amber-orange pour with a finger off-white head and spotty lacing. Aroma is a big mix of sweet roasted caramel malts and floral citrus hops. The taste leans toward the toasty malt and bready side of things up front - then balanced up a bit with grassy and slightly resiny hop bitterness. There is a lot going on with this one and I wouldn’t say it’s a typical take on the American ipa. The texture is nice and full with a hint of carbonation. Tough one to rate -- as an ipa, it’s not quite what I go for normally -- as some random beer, it’s well constructed and interesting. Always top marks for that. andersand (308), Malmö, Sweden
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Ok IPA, clear copper with a small off-white head. Aroma is rather typical of light piney and flowery hops alongside caramell but also with a off "house note" that I cant put my finger on. Flavour is pretty much the same but a bit too thin and un-refreshing for the style. Ends fairly bitter, has a medium body with nice carbonation. Beer Snob (380), Ontario, Canada

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 9, 2009 12oz bottle from Bauer Wine and Spirits, Boston MA, 9 November 2009. Hazy gingery copper colour. Diminishing off-white head. Assertive hops in the aroma - more herbaceous than resinous. Some flowery edges. Sweetish but strongly bitter flavours. Sharp, citric fruit with lots of grapefruit and tart oranges. Hops become more pine accented towards the finish. Lingering, bitter aftertaste. Texture is quite slick and a little syrupy but that is counteracted by a somewhat astringent, slightly acidic mouthfeel. The overall impression is hop dominated - more bitter than aromatic. Still, plenty of depth and flavour make for a pretty satisfying experience.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 8, 2009 Pours a hazy burnt orange. The aroma is great, resin hoppy goodness, malts, notes of a burger joint....weird, caramel, toffee, cake. The flavour is a reflection of that, citrus, tangerine, rind, hops, balanced by caramel, toffee, and cake. The mouthfeel is a little heavy, the carbonation is just right. The best Canadian IPA I’ve ever had. daknole (2891), Plantation, Florida, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 7, 2009 Cloudy orangish color. Aroma has fruit, bread and grassy/citrus hops. Flavor it bitter but very smooth. I get some floral hops with a hint of citrus. Interesting take on an American IPA. Imperial-John (155), Mississauga, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2009 Flowery, fruity bouquet. Murky dark orange with off-white thick head that slowly thins as it laces glass. Dry, bitter, too subtle earthy nuts taste. A very late piney aftertaste.
