Sweet malty nose with a little spiciness. Flavor has hop bitterness on the finish, but malty overall. Not really what I would call an IPA. But okay i suppose. Too expensive for what it is though... Smells of aged spice and pine hops. Flavors of spice hops, little citrus hops, and honey-caramel. Finish is sweet and bitter. Mellow hops for what it could have been...I believe the bottle has some age. manuchampions (103), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 3, 2009 Beautiful, almost floral hop nose. Pours a copper/amber with a decent head. Lots of great grapefruit and pine in the profile but also something complex and lingering that I can’t put my finger on. Lasts a good long while on the tongue. Probably one of my favorite Canadian attempts at a U.S. style IPA. Zinister (1199), Houston, Texas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Apr 30, 2009 Thanks to josarah for this beer. Pours a bright copper color with small head. Great nose os crisp, fresh hops...more grassy than citrusy, with some peach and apricot aromas. Good biscuit notes in the malt. Crisp, refreshing mouthfeel with good carbonation. Flavor is piney hops flavors with citrus, hibiscus and light caramel malts. Bitter finish is very pleasing. Very nice beer! OliverG (85), montreal, Quebec, Canada
McGarnigle (307), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Apr 25, 2009 Bottle drink by 01/10 I think. Initial aroma is of dry-hopped Cascades. Amber-red body, great head with lacing. Malty body, slight crystal malt sweetness, turns hoppy at the end (grapefruit/pine). An American-style IPA, if not a super hop bomb. Good. marcus (1853), Sacramento, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2009 This dark amber ale poured with a thick fluffy beige head and a toffe aroma. There is a rich caramel malt flavor with a powerful hop finish that leaves pine on the palate. This is a very tasty brew. malrubius (977), Valley Stream, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 22, 2009 11.2 ounce bottle in pint glass. Caramel color with lasting dense head and lace. Caramel biscuit and hop aroma. Toasted caramel biscuit bread and peach sweet fruitiness with very dry hoppy earthy finish. Medium body great mouthfeel. High quality balanced beer, unfortunately, a lot of us (me at least) prefer really crisp hoppy dry piney citrusy IPAs. Still, nice.
