Ample citrus hop aroma with bready yeast and malts underneath.
Very fruity with some hop dryness in the finish. Well balanced, not overly bitter.
Very smooth and full bodied.
Nicely different! JohnQPublic (387), Brooklyn, New York, USA

Pours a cloudy amber-brown, with a healthy, rocky one-finger khaki head. Nice lacing, and after the head finally settles down into a creamy cap, it doesn’t go away.
Nose is typical - some citrus mixed in with a spicy, resiny pine note, sweet caramel backing propping the whole thing up.
Taste starts off with a toasty, sweet caramel note underneath a spicy, slightly resiny hop body. Some citrus comes out more towards the finish, alongside a big dose of fruity esters, and an aspirin-like astringency that mixes oddly with a last shot of big, caramel sweetness. Finish consists of the last whispers of that caramel note, alongside a spicy bitterness that starts off heavy but fades fairly quickly. Drying. To be honest, this beer grew on me, and it’s because of the blend of American and English influences. The nose is all American, as is the sweet caramel malt body, but the actual hop character you taste - the spiciness - reminds me more of an English IPA or Pale Ale. Pulled off quite nicely. This one isn’t the giant some IPA’s are, but ends up quite drinkable and satisfying.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, a bit fluffy with a soft carbonation. Fred82 (376), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

Quite fluffy. Very nice looking. Lovely "bananorange" aroma. Hints of grapefruit also. Taste is quite hoppy with a dry finish. Hints of banana and orange as well. Quite interesting. I’m still not a huge fan of IPA though. Rating #38

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 25, 2009 bottle - Pours dark amber-orange with a one finger head. The aroma is of citrus hops and sweet caramel and nut malt. The flavor is moderately bitter and well balanced with a medium body and a lingering bitter finish. It’s good though to me the hops didn’t have a lot of character like the pine and citrus notes that go so well in an IPA. Still a solid, if rather pricey, brew. trevor211 (504), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 22, 2009 Wow, if an actual American IPA poured like this, I’d like them even better. Deep orange with a thick, pillowy head that laces the glass beautifully. Nose is very, very sweet. Hops are there for sure, but they’re overpowered by a sort of breakfast cereal corn sweetness (think cap’n crunch). Butterscotch dominates the extremely pungent aroma. Slightly watery, and honestly - I feel like adding milk and eating it with a spoon. There’s that much of that sweet corn flavor. Hops are certainly present, but don’t play a big enough part for this to be called an IPA. Odd. Intriguing, but just odd. beerbill (1941), Laurel, New York, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 22, 2009 341 ml bottle courtesy of a trade with WeeHeavySD. Pours a hazy dark brown with a thin-moderate off-white head that faded after two sips and left very little lace. The aroma is sweet malt and overripe, actually I’ll call it rotting, fruit. A bit off-putting actually, and it had me wondering if I really wanted to take a full sip. Thankfully, the flavor is nowhere near as sweet as the aroma suggests. There is ample sweet malt up front, and this is followed by a wash of dry hops. Moderate bitterness at the finish and quite dry. Probably not something I would look to revisit. pumpmaster (476), Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA
