Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

picked up a bottle at Brawley’s in Charlotte, NC. poured a dark amber with a two finger khaki head, fading quickly and leaving decent lacing as I work my way down the glass. aroma of sweet caramel with some citrus, piney hops. flavors are a mix of toasted malts with more citrusy hops. finish is more sweet than hoppy bitterness. decent IPA, but no way is it worth the $4.99/11.5 oz. bottle!

Poured from an 11.5oz bottle and served in a shaker. This IPA poured a mostly clear amber with a thick, frothy, beige head. Excellent retention and heavy lacing. The aroma of the beer was made up of oranges, grapefruit rind, lightly toasted caramel, and a hint of earthy yeast. The flavor was mildly bitter and full of bright citrus notes. Fairly sweet. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied with light carbonation. Maybe a little light on the hops for my liking, but still a decent IPA.

Very disappointing. 12oz pour to a chill hazed amber color with a head that went bye-bye real fast.Much buildup to this beer and it is not nearly as good as many IPA’s whether Brittish ot American. No hint of anything that sets this apart. It is ok but not worth the hype. What was I expecting? I’m not sure to be honest, but it was a dud.

12 oz. bottle. Amber, dark orange-ish color. Medium sized, fluffy, off white head. Lacing present. Nice floral hoppy aroma with some hints of oatmeal. Flavor is sweet malt and hoppy resins. Bitter finish.

Bottle. Immediately after opening the bottle, the lovely hoppy aromas enters the nose and promise something good. It pours a hazy orange body under an inch of off-white head leaving nice lacings. Lovely piney, resiny, slightly citrusy, floral and malty-sweet nose. Touch of beef-stock too. The flavor is much the same, on the hoppy side, with malts and sugars trying to balance it. That is doesn’t succeed is all fine, it’s a lovely IPA, with the bitterness coming nicely in the finish. Full-bodied and effervescent. (081002)

Thanks for this one Sean (illinismitty). Pours with a slightly cloudy, brownish-orange body topped by a think foamy head with a little lacing. It’s slihgtly bitter with grapefruity hop notes and a light, sweet maltiness. medium bodied and smooth yet warming.

Pours a hazy amber colour with a large tight off white head. Aroma is floral and citrus hop. Caramel tones underneath. Flavour is hoppy medium bitterness. A caramel and molasses malt depth through the middle palate and a slightly dry bitter finish.

Bottle from WeeHeavySD - thanks Jon! Very light and clean pale to my taste, not the red, bready malted brew I expected based on reviews. Slightly cloudy pour, filled with aromatic hops on the nose. Clean, almost papery mouthfeel with nice substantial body and a dry, grassy finish. Nothing I’d go out of my way for, given how many IPAs are available in general, but certainly quite a solid, enjoyable brew.
