The aroma has semi sweet roasty malts with a bit of sticky chewy-ness and pine hops. The taste starts tart moving into full boil pine hop bitterness. Yum. It then becomes more and more roasty as the malts well up creating a malty roasty finish to nearly equal the intensity of the pine hops. fonefan (11050), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 10, 2008 Slightly hazed ruddy copper color with a tall beige head. My initial sniff leads me to believe that this is a simple strong amber. What ever grain is utilized I find it in many ambers and I am not a fan. Woody licorice comes to mind. Some light orange citric qualities join in. Graham cracker flavors topped with some orange jam. Fairly thin in feel. Long citric finish along with a hint of metal. Best I can call this is a strong amber. kramer (2465), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | May 6, 2008 12 oz bottle, via puzzl. Pours a deep copper body with a slight yeast haze under a sturdy tight bubbled beige head that had excellent retention. Nice crisp citrusy and slightly piney hoppiness over a toasted caramel malt body. Very well balanced in the aroma, a nice light nuance of yeast. Big bitterness up front dominates and grabs your attention quickly, but it fades nicely as you reach the finish, showing off it’s big malt backbone with just a subtle lingering bitterness. This is really a showcase for the dry hopping technique, so bright and hoppy, but not harsh in the slightest. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied for the style with a great creamy texture and perfect soft bottle conditioned carbonation. Wow, this was just a fantastic beer! Aubrey (2774), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 6, 2008 Beautiful amber hue with a long-lasting head. Cakey, yeasty, earthy nose was very inviting. Gave it another point for its sticky, foamy lace. Nice texture; not too heavy. Malts were complex and well rounded. Aromas of fruit (pear and apple) really gave it some depth. Balanced bitterness, along with some hop aromas, brought it all together. Overall, I really enjoyed this beer. It was bold yet pleasant. rickgordon (3295), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 5, 2008 12oz bottle. Clear deep orange with a medium head. Aroma of pine and floral hops with plenty of caramel malt.Taste was sweet caramel and perfume with an intensely bitter finish. A standard American IPA, but nothing here to justify the $5 pricetag. anders37 (4607), Malmö, Sweden
