Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Pours a hazy copper color with a tan head. Aroma is sweet caramel and a wonderful sweet juicy citrus hop aroma. Flavor is malty, caramel, some toasted malt and a nice juicy citrus hop finish.

12oz bottle: Pours a transparent copper orange with a well-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh resiny grapefruity hops and sweet pale malt. Starts with good fullness and light malty sweetness with a nice balance of fresh piny and grapefruity flavor hops before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and quite tasty!

341ml bottle, with a big thanks to HogTownHarry for this excellent bonus! Pours a clear and darker amber with a frothy two finger off-white head that lingers; great lacing. Aroma is some pine/resin, citrus and floral, with some caramel in there for good measure. Flavor is a sharp hops bite that is quickly tempered with a caramel malt backbone combined with some grass/pine earthiness. Only the slightest hoppiness lingers briefly on the palate. An interesting IPA and glad to have the chance to try; thanks again Harry!

Huge, whipped cream-like head, dirty yellow, leaving beautiful rings over reddish-amber beer. Superb hoppy nose with overwhelming notes as from exotic fruit, giving mango, guave, lytchee, muscatgrapes and rosewater, as well as dry lupuline. Sharp hoppy flavour, quite bitter. Finish is fruity, again reviving retronasal al those nasal aromas. But in the aftertaste, the bitterness becomes metallic. Slightly oily, slick MF, medium to well bodied. It’s rare to find such a balanced, interesting beer in this style. Just the very last metallic bitterness is a tad too harsh. For the rest, it can better most Americans. GRAND merci, Sylvain (& copains!)

Bottle, courtesy blankboy. Pours a murky caramel color, with a very nice, marshmallow-like white head. Prominent lacing retention and lacing. Very floral hop aroma, with citrus, grapefruit, plum, cinnamon, and other spices. Nice. Has a very malty body, which is balanced superbly with an exciting hop profile that finishes each sip. Spicy mouthfeel. Very refreshing to drink. Tastes like a very balanced IPA but feels like an easy, crisp refreshing lawnmower beer, which is awesome.

(Bottle) Pours a cloudy deep amber body with a medium-sized creamy beige head. Aroma of caramel, toasted bread, citrus, cherry, chocolate, and pine. Flavor of toasted and caramels malt and citrus/pine/light floral hops that are nicely balanced.

Tons of West coast hops results in a perfectly summery, grapefruity aroma. Small rocky head with a smooth body. Amazing balance of sweetness and hoppiness. Body could use a bit more solidity but overall, a beautiful beverage.
