Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

12 oz bottle. Pours a lightly hazy ruby/orange/amber with a large foamy/bubbly off white head that left a bunch of sticky lacing. Aroma of caramel, light citrus, pine, some tropical fruits noted, kind of reminded me of Stone 10th in terms of aroma. Flavor of caramel, toffee, lots of hops, some nuts, pine, floral notes a little earthy along with a bunch of citrus notes. Boy those are some hoppy burps!

Bottle. Small ivory fizzy head with short retention, semi-transparent and semi-hazy orange w/golden tint body, fast rising carbonation, and very little lacing. The aroma was citrus hops, bitter, malt, pine, fruity, caramel, and bready. The flavor was bitter, citrus hops, caramel, bready, and malty. The mouthfeel was tingly and this is a medium bodied IPA. For the style, this is not overly hoppy tasting which was a pleasant surprise since I am by no means a hophead. That being said, I truly enjoyed this beer, it’s worthy of a try, and an IPA that I would drink again.

Bottle. Murky amber with a fluffy tan head. Aroma is citrus oils, orange peel, sweet malt, toffee, some Bit O Honey, and spicy hops. Taste is more spicy hops, pine resin, orange peel, citrus oils, toffee, light caramel, and sweet, chewy malts. Nice chewiness to the body with a medium overall feel. Carbonation is dense and creamy. Only slightly oily and minor lingering bitterness. Ends with more spicy hops, light toffee, caramel, sweet malts, citrus fruits and pine needles. Tasty!

11.5oz bottle. Poured a ruddy orange color. Head was thick, foamy, and off white with good retention. There were evenly matched malty caramel and flowery hops in the nose. I also noticed hints of pine needles and cooked vegetables after it sat in the glass for a few minutes. Earthy and dry up front with mild bitterness coming out at the end. I tasted dark malts, dried leaves, flowery/sprucy hops, and caramel. There was also a bit of cherry and even some toasted coconut. Left coast IPA? Not so much. More like a well balanced amber. Maybe a bit overrated the day I tried it (92nd percentile), but good nonetheless.

Bottled. Cloudy copper color, medium off-white head. Aroma of soft and fruity hop. Bit bitter malty taste. Soft and decent ipa.

Dark orange colored with cloudy appearance. Medium sized yellow head. Aroma is strongly hopped and grassy-flowery with interesting birch leaf tone, nice sweet caramel here too, I like this aroma.Medium bodied. Flavor is also rich with same flowery tone, caramel and lemon come up too. Excellent IPA with decent ABV.

7th of 13 tasters. I really didn’t know what to expect and I was very happily surprised by this brew. Pours orange amber with a off white ring head. The nose is hoppy big and damn damn damn citrussy, really exciting and enticing. The taste is full of citrus with a great pounding hoppy character. This really blew me away, gotta say this made me feel like I could have been back at Alpine in Cali getting a big citrus IPA.

Bottle. Rich head on rich dark orange colour. Strong hop and malt nose. Citrus orange then woody hops. No noticeable alcohol. Like some of the woody hop bomb beers brought down to a drinkable session level. A trifle thin but big hops.
