Fruity, hoppy nose with orange peel, caramel, toffee and fresh hops. Fruity, malty taste with notes of caramel, orange peel, pine needles and generous amounts of aromatic, citrussy hops in the finish. More than medium body, rather sweet. Lots of taste, very nice beer. nick76 (2678), Tampa, Florida, USA

Oh, and did I mention this shit GUSHED ALL OVER MY FLOOR? -1. Flavor is chewy, bittered malts with lots of finishing hops. Caramel and margarine. Aroma has dank, flowery hops and some sage. Nothing too exciting here. PilsnerPeter (2642), Flushing, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 30, 2008 Bottle: Pours a hazy amber with a dense tan lacing head. Rich aroma of zesty pine needles, citrus/orange hints and a nice toasted caramel malt presence. Creamy dense carbonation on the palate. An IPA with nice malt depth, thank you! Rich, bready with some rye-like suggestions, toasted caramel, zesty pine notes, orangey citrus suggestions and a piny toasted finish. Has a great malt depth giving it nuances other than hop juice resins. Very tasty and cohesive. mabel (2626), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 10, 2006 Golden fiery orange, big bubbly head - very long lasting head. I’m not sure how a pint of cask IPA is supposed to look any better than this. Really citrus orange aroma, just a hint of sweetness - not resiny hops, but more earthy and very fresh. Taste - wow, tons of citrus hops up front, lots of body to back it up in a light malt sort of way, then a ton of lingering hops - like orange juice with extra benefits! Very dry. I liked it even more than the other cask IPA I had on a previous visit - well done Dieu De Ciel!! Pailhead (2603), Allen Park, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 25, 2008 Bottle: Big citrus hoppiness in the aroma. Lots of grapefruit, orange, peach, and pine along with a strong dose of caramel as well. It pours a mostly transparent amber with a touch of haze and a half inch off white head that leaves behind sporadic lacing. The flavor starts with light-moderate caramel along with some light fruitiness. The caramel is nowhere near as strong as the aroma would indicate. The finish has moderate grapefruit and pine hops. The pine lasts awhile in the aftertaste. Medium bodied with a soft mouthfeel and mild carbonation. I anticipated a much bigger, "in your face", and sticky IIPA based on the aroma. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a hoppy IPA, but it smelled like a 10+% IIPA. ChainGangGuy (2593), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 23, 2008 Appearance: Pours a clear amber body topped by a medium-sized, white head.
Smell: Honeyish, hoppy aroma with notes of passion fruit juice, flowers, and grapefruit rind.
Taste: Honey candy, though with a restrained sweetness. Then, jumps to the fruity, resoundingly bitter hops. Continual hints of citrus. Slightly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Slight oiliness to the mouthfeel.
Drinkability: In short: it’s good. A nice surprise.
