Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Bottle. Pours a thick inviting cheddar orange with a healthy head of off-white. Aroma is a sweet grapefruit that gives way quickly to a more sour (and proper) version of the aforementioned fruit. Flavor is a a blunt grapefruit with orange rinds and pine in the finish. Nice mouthfeel. Refreshing and very approachable.

Bottle (34 cl) at Bishops Arms, Göteborg, Sweden. Clear deep mahogny, rich beige head. Malty and caramelly, with pinye and citric hops, and with some dark berries. Medium bodied and smooth. Well balanced with a lingering soft bitterness. Very nice.

11.5 oz. bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop. Very hazy brownish red color with a 2-finger head, decent retention and nice lacing. Big nutty, toffee malt aroma with some citrus hops. Citrus hops in the taste are very bitter with a nutty maltiness in the background. Medium body.

Bottle from SL. The pour was full red-amber, excellent initial head, ok retention, solid lacing. The aroma was full caramel and floral hops. The flavor was a hearty caramel malty base (with an almost gritty texture, hearty indeed), ample hops, floral and pine most prominent, but fruity citrus elements in there too. A decent brew, but too pricey to seek out again here in the States.

Thanks for this one Sean (illinismitty). Pours with a slightly cloudy, brownish-orange body topped by a think foamy head with a little lacing. It’s slihgtly bitter with grapefruity hop notes and a light, sweet maltiness. medium bodied and smooth yet warming.

Bottle: Poured a deep copper color ale with a nice thick and quite big foamy head with some good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of resin hops with some nice floral notes. Taste is also dominated by some resin hoppy notes with a subtle caramel malt profile and ends with some bitter notes. Body is quite full with a nice texture and some good carbonation.
