Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Caramel colored with an off white head. Aroma could be bigger and has caramel, pine, and some roasted malt. Flavor is caramel, fruit, grapefruit, and pine. It is balanced toward the sweet side. Feel is a bit powdery but otherwise is medium bodied. Finish is floral. Very nice!

Alot of sweet malt in the aroma, almost 2IPA-like. Floral, grapefruit rind hops. The flavor is rich, but much drier than he aroma.

Hazy amber w/ frothy off-white foam. Hoppy aroma of grapefruit, mint & leafy tobacco. Medium, sticky feel. Flavour is sweet & hoppy w/ a dry, earthy bitterness in the finish.

11.5 oz bottle from tytoanderso, thanks Tyler. Pours a slightly murky brown with a foamy off white/light beige head. Not sure if this one is old or if the hops in this are just subdued but either way they sure are taking a back seat to the malts. Aroma of caramel and toffee and to a lesser extent some grapefruit citrus hops. Slightly syrupy body with a light bitter finish. Flavor has lots of bread and caramel with only slight citrus rind. Funny thing is although this was no hop bomb it sure started growing on me by the end, sort of like a wart on your thumb but in a good way.

11.5 oz bottle. Clear orange brown with a coating bone skin. Nose is orange zest and toffee; light grass. Almost medium with soft resin and a nice stinging carb. Taste is carmelized orange, tea, pink grapefruit and rose petals. Dry finish with peppery pine.

Pours like hazy amber with a modest head that swiftly calls it a night. Only a faint trace of lace is evident that the beer was actually poured rather than materialized. Aromas of molasses and citrus rind. Medium nectar weight with ample effers. This one calls for a defined molasses malt backdrop dragging herbs and citrus rind to the playground. The hop rate is moderate and noticeable on the finish. The molasses stains the palate and lingers. This is a very well balanced beer.

12 oz bottle from WLV Liquors. Pours a hazed orange with a off white head that fades to a thin layer. Malt and floral notes constitute the greatest part of the beer. Aged caramel malts and brown sugar with floral hops that are ever so slightly soapy in the nose. The flavor profile matches the aroma. A decent amount of bitterness that carries through the finish leaving the tongue dry from the floral hops. Not bad but not that enjoyable either. Floral hops aren’t my favorite bittering hop, I think they could have done better with a different varietal. Especially if they are trying for the "American IPA".
