Amber gold with a thin off white head. Big resinous hoppy nose with some slight ethanol and a bit of a peppery sting at the top. Really good nose. Sadly the flavour is nothing like as good. All the same stuff is there that made the aroma so great but there are some definite notes of card and vegetables. All I can say is that this doesn’t seem to have bottled too well. It’s like a bad English bottle conditioned beer. Such a same. I’m sure this would be spectacular on draught but right now, especially following the exceptional aroma, I feel rather let down. Superb bitter finish brings it back, just but I can’t help but feel this has so much more to give. thewolf (5803), Kolding, Denmark

Pours hazy amber with a medium head that is bubbly near the glass, and creamy in the centre. Slightly off white. Aroma is bready, some caramel as well as a lot of hoppiness. Pine and grapefruit dominate. Nice, dry mouthfeel. Flavour is very bitter, light caramel sweetness behind it. Pine hops are very apparent, with a slight hop burn in the finish. Much like a good English IPA with a good dose of American hops thrown in for good measure. bu11zeye (5608), Frisco, Texas, USA

Aroma of caramel, toasted bread, citrus, cherry, chocolate, and pine. Flavor of toasted and caramels malt and citrus/pine/light floral hops that are nicely balanced. hopdog (5608), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a deeper and cloudy amber color with an averaged sized off white head. Aromas of fresh juicy oranges (like I just peeled one), caramel, other citrus, and floral. Tastes of citrus, toasted caramel, and light pine. Not overly bitter or hoppy; more of a balanced Amber (that I enjoyed!).Lacing left on the glass. Rastacouere (5561), Montréal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Mar 6, 2004 Cloudy deep golden hue with a well-laced white head. Spruce aroma, straightforward orangey hops. A hoppy citrusy palate with a very honest bitterness and a solid malt backbone, but it doesn't leave much impression, especially with a dissapointing light body. Sweeter than most IPA, definitely a respectable session beer, but for now I'll stick to my Solstice d'hiver:) Magicdave6 (5551), London, Greater London, England

Alround rating: Cramalt, grassy and peppery bitterness, lychee and orange peel fruityness. Good stuff. CaptainCougar (5520), Rockville, Maryland, USA

Aroma of fresh resiny grapefruity hops and sweet pale malt. Starts with good fullness and light malty sweetness with a nice balance of fresh piny and grapefruity flavor hops before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and quite tasty!
