Aromas are strictly high alpha American hops. Some malts try to break thru, but not much luck there.
Flavors are mostly American hops, with a weak, watery malt backbone.
Burning alcohol in the mouthfeel. Not balanced by any means. probstk (1064), Nepean, Ontario, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 14, 2008 341 mL bottle from Jovi, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.
App.: Medium mahogany, clear, moderate light tan head.
Aroma: Rye bread crust smothered in Seville orange marmalade; typical big, crunchy malts coupled with juicy grapefruit, pine hops; always a delectable combination.
Palate: Medium body and medium-full effervescence.
Flav.: Lots of toffee, caramel and brown sugar surrounded by juicey grapefruit and pine hops, a bit of cardboard, I think; lightly off-dry and moderately bitter with a slightly earthy, dry malt finish.
Not mind-blowing but very drinkable. chicagodri (1063), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | May 18, 2008 Very solid beer. Picked up a bottle at West Lakeview Liquors in Chicago. Pours a dark amber. Nice aroma, some hops as well as some malt. Very basic, but so smooth and well balanced. It has a nice texture to the beer, I could see drinking a lot of these. jredmond (1056), New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 15, 2009 Bottle split with Pat. Pours a hazy reddish brown body with small white head. The aroma is Southern Tier Mokah - didnt clean my glass out enough. Taste is smooth, delicious well-balanced hop. bigrond (1054), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Mar 26, 2009 This beer loses points for being in a 11.5 oz bottle. WHat gives?? It was an interesting blend between what tasted like Fuggle hops and cascade(?), but thats just a guess. It had the maltiness of an English IPA and lacked the bite of an American IPA. This beer is searching for an identity. crizay (1050), Brook Park (was Tampa,FL), Ohio, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 6, 2008 copper red pour, medium white head that stays. aroma is very earthy with a dark caramel scent and lots of earthy hoppiness. flavor is earthy upfront into again a dark caramel like flavor with some biscuit notes and then resiny bitterness. hops are pretty good and the bitterness isn’t too abrasive at all with pine and citrus coming through but the resin cuts through it all. not bad at all. pootzboy (1048), Hawgville, Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 2, 2007 Bottle from Metro Joanette date coded as bottled Sept...3 weeks from bottling.
Poured an intoxicating hazed deep amber-orange with a sticky rocky 2 finger cap that laced the glass well.
Aroma: Piney, Grapefruit rinds, apricots musty sweet malty tones...perfect!
Profile: WoW! Malty but not sweet...hop complexity drives this flavor...pine, grass, citus, cedar, woody tones...all in a musty-earthy malt vehicle...dry, slightly bitter finish with metallic after taste.
Surprisingly light body and mouth feel...yet satisfying...very unique flavour and interpretation on this style.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2008 Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy amber with a one finger lasting off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aroma is loaded with floral and citrus hops with a hint of sweet malt and caramel. Taste is the same as aroma just not as prominent. Medium mouthfeel with a moderate amount of bitterness. Very good.
