| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 16, 2009 Poured a dark copper color with a white to off-white head. Decent lacing. The aroma was grassy, light citrus and malt. The flavor was malt, grassy and citrusy hops and some definite pencil shavings. Lots of malt, you can definitely feel the English influence. Not an aggresive IPA, more of an English Pale Ale. Expensive for what it was. jimbowood (964), Athens, Georgia, USA

I think I notice Cascade and Warrior hops. Excellent American IPA from a non-American brewer. axilla (962), New Providence, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 16, 2008 (Bottle). Citrus aroma. Dark amber color with large light tan head. Flavor is sweetish grapefruit, and some malt backbone. Not as bitter as other IPAs, and without the lengthy finish of some, but still a quality brew. JK54B (951), Helsinki, Finland

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 3, 2008 bottle from bauer wine and spirits in boston. i didn’t expect to see anything from dieu du ciel, so this was a pleasant surprise - and the IPA aroma was also a surprise. a half mix between the brutally bitter american hops and classic british hops. not palate-bruising but certainly bitter, and far bitterer than it smells. seems that beer fans owe it to themselves to visit this brewery. green hops characteristics and perceptibly malty finish, with a pleasantly hoppy aftertaste; nice beer. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 19, 2009 Aroma of malty, piney. Pours a cloudy orange, nice head. Caramel malty backbone. Floral notes, burnt fruit, hoppy but not overpowering. Just general all-around tastiness. You try to put your finger on what you like about it, but your glass is empty and you’re already pouring another one. nimbleprop (941), SouthWest, Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 22, 2008 12oz bottle pours a translucent reddish, copper amber with a sudsy, lacing white head. Aroma is extremely hoppy, strong lemon and pine with a malt backing lurking behind the hop resin. Flavor is heavy on the citrus fruits, spicy with plenty of pine and resin on the tongue. Finish is obviously bitter, but the mild sweetness also comes in at the very end. This is a nice IPA, but considering what I paid ($5.29), I think I’ll stick to the cheaper local micro IPAs that give me the same bang for less buck.
