Aroma of fresh resiny grapefruity hops and sweet pale malt. Starts with good fullness and light malty sweetness with a nice balance of fresh piny and grapefruity flavor hops before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and quite tasty! | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 6, 2009 courtesy of Antonio Ruiz - hazy reddish-amber colour with a little foam left; a fair hoppiness showing notes of quince marmalade, flowery with a touch of raspberries; medium to full malt body; subtle carbonation, a plain and solid bitterness, long and bitter aftertaste of quinces, quite dry - superb JorisPPattyn (5192), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 17, 2008 Huge, whipped cream-like head, dirty yellow, leaving beautiful rings over reddish-amber beer. Superb hoppy nose with overwhelming notes as from exotic fruit, giving mango, guave, lytchee, muscatgrapes and rosewater, as well as dry lupuline. Sharp hoppy flavour, quite bitter. Finish is fruity, again reviving retronasal al those nasal aromas. But in the aftertaste, the bitterness becomes metallic. Slightly oily, slick MF, medium to well bodied. It’s rare to find such a balanced, interesting beer in this style. Just the very last metallic bitterness is a tad too harsh. For the rest, it can better most Americans. Hoppy, piney, fruity and grassy aroma with a malty sweet note. Hoppy, peach fruity flavor with pine notes. Dry, hoppy bitter finish. MartinT (5075), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 16, 2004 Updated: Oct 9, 2008Straight hop resin infusion reminiscent of a sun-dried lawnmower bag...Black pepper sprinkled on oranges and that green, herbal dry hopping...Strong bitterness in a quaffable body whose hops often feel like garden spices...The latest 6.5% version was extremely well-balanced and flavorful, had to bump the scores up a bit...
Another "most" recent batch was again even better, superb balance of citrusy and flowery hops and fruity caramel maltiness, and extremely flavorful...This is becoming one of the best IPAs out there...And the newly bottled version is as good, if not better than the tap version! madsberg (5062), Søborg, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 30, 2008 Bottled. Amber/burgundy coloured. Unclear. Dense ligth brown head. Aroma of pine, citrus, grass and caramel Flavour is sweet and piney. Has light fruits and a somewhat citric touch. Caramel is notable in flavour as well. Is medium bodied. Quite dry. Medium to strong bitterness in the end, but its countered well by a fresh sweetness. Very nice. Cletus (5058), Connecticut, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 10, 2009 Bottle. I think this came from Glouglouburp. Pours amber with a thin off white head. Smells of perfume, wildflowers, hay. Tastes refreshing and spicy with some peppery splashes and a nice grassy finish. Not a typical IPA, but a very enjoyable one. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 31, 2008 Deep amber-orange beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is lightly orangey and fruity. Light peach and pink grapefruit as well. There is a lightly zesty/spicy note to this beer as well. The flavour is hoppy, but not all that bitter. Grapefruit and citrus and a kiss of light caramel on the back. Quite a nice beer, really.
