| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 20, 2009 Pours murky, dark copper with a creamy 2 finger beige head that fades to a chunky half finger after a few minutes and holds, leaving some pretty nice lacing as it goes, this is a nice looking brew. Aroma is dark caramel, lots of sweet citrus, a little pine, lightly buttery toffee, some husky grain and nice biscuit notes. Flavor is caramel, light peppery spice, strong, yet muted citrus notes - sort of like there are dried citrus peels in here or something, white bread crust, sweet bread spice, berry blossom like floral notes and biscuity malts. Finish is moderately bitter blood orange citrus, burnt sugar and toffee. Palate is medium body, dry on the entry a little syrupy in the middle and dry again for the finish. Really nice IPA, it has alot of interesting character to it, and a really elegant balance, could be a little hoppier though. lamas (728), Adams Morgan, Washington DC, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 18, 2008 11.5 oz. bottle. Pours a murky, rust-colored amber body with a finger-thick tan head. A rich, malty aroma that features lots of roasty caramel upfront with some resiny hops underneath. Medium to full-bodied. A whole lot of caramel starts things off taste-wise. Finishes with some ample hoppy bitterness in the form of grapefruits and orange rinds. A little biscuity too. Nice balance. TheJester (716), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 1, 2008 Updated: Jun 21, 2009341 mL bottle. Copper brown with citrus, pine, caramel, and toast in the nose. The flavour is aggressive, but well balanced, with grapefruit and pine balanced by caramel malt. The finish is bitter and lingering. Decent body and appropriate carbonation. A solid IPA. BitchesBrew (710), Berkeley, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 2, 2007 [cask] Hazy copper color, with plenty of floating particulates, and a perfect sized, coarse, tan head. Excellent retention all the way down the glass. Sweet, juicy citrus aroma-- grapefruit, orange and pine. Very hoppy flavors, with the Cascade citrus and mild honey malt flavors really shining through. Cask conditioning is very smooth, highlighting the yeast character just enough to balance the hop presence overall. Clean, smooth and certainly hoppy. As with all DDC brews, a smooth creamy mouthfeel. Overall, an outstanding IPA. CelticBrew (705), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 16, 2008 Compliments of my friends DrBayern (Thanks Matt!!!!), expensive 11.5 oz beer, poured nicely a medium dark and hazy coppery malt. Aroma of hops, malts, and grapefruit. Flavour is both full bodied and bold beer. An excellent American version of IPA, I must admit. Sorry, most canadian beer to me is pussy beer, except for a few. This is a superb and wonderful ale from our friends in Canada. I would love to try it on tap. Awesome beer! rodenbach99 (705), Longueuil, Quebec, Canada

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 17, 2008 Small bottle, pours a hazy dark copper-ruby with medium brown, produced a creamy variable bubbled off-white head with some bubbles that were almost tan colored, head looked like meringue on the beer, head softened to a nice cover in a few minutes, I could see some effervescence when the glass is held up to a light, this looks darker then your typical IPA, leaves bubbled lacing on the sides of the glass, a nice big aroma of citrus hops, along with oranges and toasted malt, faint caramel and grassy fragrances, flavors of citrus hop pine bitterness with toasted malt and some malt sweetness, the hops keep the sweetness in check and then some, flavors of orange skin and pine needle, hop bitterness and pine hangs on after the finish, mouth feel is medium or a bit more, nice on the tongue, a nice great hopped IPA, I found this balanced more towards the hops with toasted malt flavors. mirjukka (704), LOHJA, Finland
