Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Pours a hazy, scarlet color with a yellowish, moderately full, creamy, pillowy head which settles in a timely manner and leaves some drippy lace. Nose is quite sweet for an IPA; notes of caramel, toffee, vanilla with some pink grapefruit and resins and some tropical fruit notes (maybe mango). Flavor is similar with more resinous notes and a more than medium bitterness; notes of caramel, light toffee, lots of pine resins, and pink grapefruit. Palate is medium, soft to lively, and a bit oily. Finishes drying and fairly long with more bitterness and notes of slightly earthy pine resins and lingering grapefruit notes. A nice, sweeter IPA but still with good bitterness and hop flavors. Not quite what I would consider a West Coast IPA but still a nice balanced hoppy beer. Extremely drinkable.

Cloudy amber and a thin white head. Smells like pine. belgian yeast. Thin butter like feel. I think the bottle might have some age because it seems toned down. Very smooth with a roasty finish.

"Beer looks cloudy brown with burnt orange elements shining though a minimal crown was produced but that reduced quickly to a small bubble ring. Simple nice aroma containing sweet hopy citrus and a mild malt character, the malts start to become more bold as the beer warms. Yummy intense bitter taste, the bitterness lingers a very long time. Nice grape fruit hops and roasted malt flavors but there seems to be a lot of alcohol in the taste for such a low percentage. After drinking this for a while all the malts seem to vanish from the flavor just leaving the alcohol and intense bitterness. I’m not too sure how much I enjoyed this it was both good and bad, this beer let me down. "

Pours a light amber color with a medium creamy headthat leaves some webs of lacing. Aroma is robust - hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, with some caramel malt citrus. Taste is about the same, but balanced and smooth. Very enjoyable IPA.

Bottle. Amber colour with a thick and foamy white head. The aroma is rather shy but nice citrusy. Hoppy flavor. But not in a complex way. It is not too bitter, you can actually taste the hops. Hints of butter and citrus.

11.5oz bottle from greens in atlanta (I think). Interesting look for an ipa - a murky dark amber-orange pour with a finger off-white head and spotty lacing. Aroma is a big mix of sweet roasted caramel malts and floral citrus hops. The taste leans toward the toasty malt and bready side of things up front - then balanced up a bit with grassy and slightly resiny hop bitterness. There is a lot going on with this one and I wouldn’t say it’s a typical take on the American ipa. The texture is nice and full with a hint of carbonation. Tough one to rate -- as an ipa, it’s not quite what I go for normally -- as some random beer, it’s well constructed and interesting. Always top marks for that.
