Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Bottle. Amber colour with a thick and foamy white head. The aroma is rather shy but nice citrusy. Hoppy flavor. But not in a complex way. It is not too bitter, you can actually taste the hops. Hints of butter and citrus.

Pours a light amber color with a medium creamy headthat leaves some webs of lacing. Aroma is robust - hoppy, citrus, grapefruit, with some caramel malt citrus. Taste is about the same, but balanced and smooth. Very enjoyable IPA.

341 ml bottle, bottled in 2007. Appearance: Deep amber/orange with a thick white head. Aroma: Very hoppy, a lot of citrus, grapefruit, pine and caramel. Flavor is similar to the aroma, a lot of very fruity hops, but still malty so this is not as one dimensional as other beer of this style. Body is full to medium. A very very good IPA. An everyday beer for me. The cask version is more dry hopped and the mouthfeel is much more oily.

on cask at the brewpub. Semi transparent orange/copper pour with a very nice off white head. Heavy fresh hop aroma. Resinous pine hop flower aroma, like a christmas tree. The hoppiness is subdued on the palate, however. Inherent sweetness lingers as well as mild bitterness. Pine aroma is very heavy, kind of perfume like. Decent, but I could not drink a lot of this.

Pours a teak color with a small white head. Aroma has nice hop content- grapefruit, tangerine, and floral notes. Flavor is quite good- Hits the standard flavors of a good IPA right on. Good stuff.

Pours deep amber with a minor, fine, white head. Aroma is very hoppy. Flavor is incredibly hoppy with a strong hop bittering finish. A pleasant, moderate mouth feel really rounds out this pale well.
