| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 9, 2008 Copper color with a medium head. Solid orange and citrus aroma. Wow... strong malt backbone. Lots of caramel and almost bready. Toast? Plenty of citrus (orange and grapefruit) and enough bitterness that it’s not overly sweet, but very incredibly balanced. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2005 Updated: Mar 10, 2005On draught March 2005 at the pub. Amber-yellow body, clear, with a white head, pretty well retained. Aroma of. . .hops, cascade-like and quite straightforward (fruity, citrusy, lightly juicy). Reminds me of some of the IPAs I drank in Michigan (Dark Horse crooked tree, founders centennial, Arcadia IPA), though, not quite as in your face with the hops. For an American IPA, it’s quite restrained and well-behaved. While the relatively lower amount of alpha bitterness dosen’t demand a ton of malt to balance it, the malt still seeemed a little bit lacking. Light fruit notes, a touch of paperiness, very clean on the finish. Dry, lean body that is very drinkable and shows no signs of the 6.5 abv (would never have guessed). gnoff (3574), Göteborg, Sweden

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 16, 2008 11.5 oz bottle. Pours a good medium amber with a decent carbonation and a thick foamy white head and cool lace. Aroma is citrus hops, cascade, light metiallic from the cascade, lightsoapiness, god caramel malt backbone an some classic DdC earthy yeastiness which I like- almos therb and marijuana like. Flavor is more cascade metallic cat pee hops, mild caramel malt backbone, earth, more cattiness, light lemon rind, citrus even some lime-ade. Decent bitter character and good mouthfeel. Bitterness isnt as refined as I hoped and becomes a bit soapy. Nice solid IPA. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Copper, tiny head. Very raw aromatic floral hops, and window-cleaning fluid in the aroma. Sharply tangy palate. Some ginger and a little lightly roasted malt, but overall, very hoppy. Sherbet and fruity. A very small amount is quite nice but not for drinking any quantity of. Possibly I only enjoyed this as it was my first American IPA of the evening. The style gets tremendously boring very quickly.
