Creamy head, dark and unfiltered. Flavors of apricots, spices (this was DDC’s spice-fest evening, after all) including tarragon. Hops heavy at the finish; dry. I don’t think that IPAs are one of DDC’s specialties, but this was nice and fit well with the other beers of the evening. 6/4/7/3/13 3.3
April 2005: more pungency and floral qualities to the aroma, touches of honey and citrus...fuller, gorgeous body, with delicate oaken characteristics vying with a sweet orange acidity...very creamy, yet the bitterness never lets go. Rating is for this sample. bhensonb (4374), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 17, 2008 330 ml. bottle. Dark amber color with a significant beige head. Aroma of roasted caramel, citrus and resin. Medium body with creamy carbonation. It tastes really fresh. The roasted malt is there, but the hop seems to overcome it. I’m not saying it’s unbalanced, but I’m not saying it’s balanced. The finish is both sweet and bitter. I am saying it is absolutely delicious. Works for my mouth. Dogbrick (2906), Columbus, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 5, 2009 This beer is a brownish-orange color with a medium thick and foamy beige head that dissipates steadily. Rings of lacing on the glass. Hoppy aroma with notes of citrus and bready malt. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with citrusy hops, malt and touches of grain. The finish is resiny hops with a lingering bitterness left over. Straightforward and good IPA through and through. Marsiblursi (1659), Göteborg, Sweden

The aroma is medium hoppy with tones of citrus – mostly grapefruit and orange, floral/mild pine and apricots. Medium malty with buttery caramel up front. Subtle fruity undertones of starfruit, tangerine, woody pineapple and wild strawberries. The flavour is medium hoppy with citric (orange peel and grapefruit) and floral tones as the most notable. Light fruity and light to medium malty with some toastiness and caramel. The finish is very dry. The mouthfeel quite soft and smooth. Light sweet and medium bitter with some resiny notes. Medium bodied. eaglefan538 (2403), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Apr 24, 2008 Bottle from SL. The pour was full red-amber, excellent initial head, ok retention, solid lacing. The aroma was full caramel and floral hops. The flavor was a hearty caramel malty base (with an almost gritty texture, hearty indeed), ample hops, floral and pine most prominent, but fruity citrus elements in there too. A decent brew, but too pricey to seek out again here in the States. joshwilfong (797), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
