Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Malty and dusty. Lots of hops and English style IPA mixed in. The wonderful brewery that isn’t cheap. But this is an nice musty beer. Citrus and caramel mixed in as well.

montreal beer fest. Lovley just lovley. Was hand pulled, old british style, right from the cask. Realy good. Creamy malt, medium bitter hop domonate with a lovley grapefruit undertone. lovley hops on the nose, smoth on the palate, aftertaste of citris spiked hops. Lovley, just lovley. Cheers

copper red pour, medium white head that stays. aroma is very earthy with a dark caramel scent and lots of earthy hoppiness. flavor is earthy upfront into again a dark caramel like flavor with some biscuit notes and then resiny bitterness. hops are pretty good and the bitterness isn’t too abrasive at all with pine and citrus coming through but the resin cuts through it all. not bad at all.

Dry with a very hoppy spike but an odd tea-like flavor lingers in the finish. Not a bad IPA though.

Bottle. Pours amber with creamy white head. Hoppy aroma with notes of grapefruit, grass and hay. Flavour is hoppy and caramel is present too. Bitter finish that ends up with a touch of hay.

(11.5 oz. bottle from 1828 Vintage House) Pours cloudy amber with three fingers of lightly amberish biege head. Initial aroma of grapefruit and pine. As head recedes there is vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth and provides a decent amount of texture for the style. Feels unfiltered. Lots of broken lightly foamy patchy lacing. Tastes sweet and bitter. Caramel and vanilla overlain by pine and grapefruit. Lightly flowery and a bit of fruit. And was there just a hint of spiciness in the finish? Lightly bitter aftertaste on the tongue. Pretty good straightforward IPA. I usually don’t comment on the price but $5.99/bottle?! Ouch.
