| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2008 (11.5 oz. bottle from 1828 Vintage House) Pours cloudy amber with three fingers of lightly amberish biege head. Initial aroma of grapefruit and pine. As head recedes there is vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth and provides a decent amount of texture for the style. Feels unfiltered. Lots of broken lightly foamy patchy lacing. Tastes sweet and bitter. Caramel and vanilla overlain by pine and grapefruit. Lightly flowery and a bit of fruit. And was there just a hint of spiciness in the finish? Lightly bitter aftertaste on the tongue. Pretty good straightforward IPA. I usually don’t comment on the price but $5.99/bottle?! Ouch.
