| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Oct 15, 2008 (11.5 oz. bottle from 1828 Vintage House) Pours cloudy amber with three fingers of lightly amberish biege head. Initial aroma of grapefruit and pine. As head recedes there is vanilla and caramel. Mouthfeel is fairly smooth and provides a decent amount of texture for the style. Feels unfiltered. Lots of broken lightly foamy patchy lacing. Tastes sweet and bitter. Caramel and vanilla overlain by pine and grapefruit. Lightly flowery and a bit of fruit. And was there just a hint of spiciness in the finish? Lightly bitter aftertaste on the tongue. Pretty good straightforward IPA. I usually don’t comment on the price but $5.99/bottle?! Ouch. smashed420 (22), Canada
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Sep 3, 2009 My go to IPA (considering I’m 500 meters from the brewpub). There are relatively few American IPA’s here in Quebec that are true to style. DDC’s example is one of the best. Big huge grapefruit hop flavor and aroma balanced by an overly caramelly body. Great. caesar (3034), Bunnik/Utrecht, Netherlands

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 27, 2009 Caramel colored with an off white head. Aroma could be bigger and has caramel, pine, and some roasted malt. Flavor is caramel, fruit, grapefruit, and pine. It is balanced toward the sweet side. Feel is a bit powdery but otherwise is medium bodied. Finish is floral. Very nice! michael-pollack (2726), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 3, 2008 12oz. Bottle: Aroma of hops, nuts, wood, chocolate malts, caramel, and resin. Poured dark amber in color with a large, creamy, dense, tan head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Sparkling. Good lacing. Flavor is lightly bitter. Tastes of hops, malts, caramel, resin, wood, and more hops. I do not detect the pine that most people seem to taste in this beer. Medium body. Chalky texture. Soft to average carbonation. Dry hoppy finish.
