Commercial Description:
Corne du diable (French for "Horn of the devil") is a contemporary interpretation of the classic English India Pale Ale. This new style, born on the west coast of North America, is characterized by stronger and hoppier beers. The result is a red ale expressing caramel flavours coming from the malt, sharp bitterness and powerful hop aromas, thanks to dry hopping.

Pours a slightly hazy orange brown with an inch of off-white head. Has strong citrus and spicy hops aroma. Lots of sweet malts coming through as well. I also smell other fruits like green grapes. Taste is an excellent balance of sweet flavors underneath plenty of bitter and spicy hop flavor. Light citrus, apple, and caramel flavors are also present. Medium-light bodied and medium carbonation. The finish is quite grassy a spicy. This is an excellent twist on an I.P.A. Delicious.

This is a very complex and lovely IPA, it has really nice floral and perfumy notes on the nose, and a full and rich flavor and mouthfeel. It reminds me of dogfish head 90 minute without the sweetness. Very nice lacing, and pours kind of an iced tea color.

12oz bottle: Pours a transparent copper orange with a well-lacing white head. Aroma of fresh resiny grapefruity hops and sweet pale malt. Starts with good fullness and light malty sweetness with a nice balance of fresh piny and grapefruity flavor hops before a drier, crisp bittersweet finish. Very drinkable and quite tasty!

Cask at Volo Cask Day 2006. Slightly hazy reddish-orange colour. Aroma - wow! Fresh, sweet, citric hops with a good malt backing. Flavour is big and hoppy with sweet caramel malt to balance. Really nice.

Bottle. Orange color with a big white head. Hoppy and fruity aroma. Taste is malty, with some exotic fruits and some sourness. The taste last long, but kinda dry on the aftertaste. Nicely balanced. Another pleasant and accessible beer from Dieu du ciel!

Huge, whipped cream-like head, dirty yellow, leaving beautiful rings over reddish-amber beer. Superb hoppy nose with overwhelming notes as from exotic fruit, giving mango, guave, lytchee, muscatgrapes and rosewater, as well as dry lupuline. Sharp hoppy flavour, quite bitter. Finish is fruity, again reviving retronasal al those nasal aromas. But in the aftertaste, the bitterness becomes metallic. Slightly oily, slick MF, medium to well bodied. It’s rare to find such a balanced, interesting beer in this style. Just the very last metallic bitterness is a tad too harsh. For the rest, it can better most Americans. GRAND merci, Sylvain (& copains!)

Bottle courtesy of beerbuzzmontreal. A very nice hop flavor. I think I notice Cascade and Warrior hops. Excellent American IPA from a non-American brewer.

Pours ruddy dark gold with a generous tan head. Ample citrus hop aroma with bready yeast and malts underneath. Very fruity with some hop dryness in the finish. Well balanced, not overly bitter. Very smooth and full bodied. Nicely different!
