Strong rye, wet hay, light cotrus notes to the aroma. Opaque dark copper-brown with low, fine-bubbled, off-white head that diminishes to partial cover and thick ring. Pine, rye, orange flavours blend together nicely in the lead up to a fairly assertive bitterness. Smooth texture, lively carbonation fondles the tongue. On tap at the brewpub.

Dark amber color with a nice beige head. The aroma is of citrus. You can taste the sweet caramel in it, but also taste some hops. It lives you with a good bitter feel in your mouth. Very good.

Bu sur place en fut (10 oz). Couleur cuivrée foncée, mince collet avec dentèle. Arome d’houblon mi-sucré pas trop fort. Bon goût d’houblon et de seigle amère, un peu sûrette.

Draught (6 oz. sample) at Dieu du Ciel! Ruby-amber with a small head. Strong hop aroma, quite earthy, with caramel malt and a hint of rye to round things out. Flavour follows the aroma almost exactly, with the addition of a hint of chocolate malt. Mouthfeel is soft and moreish. A very good beer, and a great first beer to have upon my arrival for a weekend in Montreal.

Cask at Spuyten. Pours with a focky foamy white head above a still looking flat amber and ruby highlights. Aroma is bursting with tropical fruits, some cat piss, grapefruit and some pine- simcoe and amarillo character all the way- rye is more subdued and covered by hops in the aroma. The Rye in the flavor comes alive in the middle of the palate with a nice earthy doughy crackery spiciness- still a good amount of simcoe and amarillo, but not as intense as the nose- some nice smooth medium and dark stewed malts with good fruity profile- apple, pear, and raisin. Nice tacky bitternesss in the end. Great APA, but it was very dark- maybe a hoppy amber?

Pours a reddish brown with small head. Aroma holds malt, rye is evident, bready style. Flavor is great- malt sticks, but balances well with hops and citrus- incredible. Smooth palate, wondrous APA.

Cask at Spuyten Duyvil. Citrusy hop aroma over some rich spicy malts. A combination of lemon and grapefruit along with a bit of pine and tropical fruit. Some nice spicy wheat/rye character in the back. A hint of peppery spiciness. Flavour is good and fresh with lots of wheat and lightly caramelly malts. Nice combination of spiciness, citrusy/tropical hops and a lingering citrus flavour. Good balance.
