In fact, every stout or Imperial stout brewed by Dieu du Ciel is highly rated on this site. And, as a regular stout, I must say that I am thoroughly impressed by this Déesse Nocturne. The taste is of bitter dark chocolate and espresso, with a long hop finale. But what amazed me most was the thickness and the lasting foam on that beer. My favorite regular stout brewed in my imaginary country of Québec. BitchesBrew (712), Oakland, California, USA

Topped with a thick, whipped cream-like head. I wanted to just sit and stare at it for a while. Flavors are dark chocolate, subtle coffee and some serious roasted malt/chicory notes as well. Extremely smooth, almost silky texture. Finishes with some slight hops and vanilla sweetness. For me, this was the peak of my DDC experience. An incredible brew. dhurtubise (568), Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

It is rich, complex, smooth and has a depth of flavours. Yummy stout. I need to go back to Montreal. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada

Almost black opaque body. Big chocolate flavour with lots of roasted and dark malts very apparent but no astringency. Very full-bodied. A wonderful sweet stout. | 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 19, 2005 Nice aroma of mainly coffee and some chocolate. Great silky smooth texture. Flavor is sweet, creamy coffee. This stout is a great stout and incredibly drinkable. I was incredibly bummed that my montreal vacation started just 4 days after they ran out of peche mortel, but this helped out my dissapointment a bit. EtownEraser (63), New Jersey, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 8, 2006 On tap at the brewpub. Thick, creamy, relentless, extremely appetizing head. Dark black/brown color, aromas of coffee, chocolate, dark roasted grains/malts. Flavors were similar: hints of coffee and chocolate, but dominated by nutty roasted malts/grains. A great, great stout. I’m not a huge fan of the stout in general but this brew was just amazing. french tickler (642), Aylmer, Quebec, Canada

Heavy malt flavors and aromas, toffee, butterscotch, smoke, brown sugar, semi-sweet chocolate, maple syrup... WOW... This is a 5% stout?... just WOW!
