Citrus, tropical fruit, and spice. Hoppy upfront with a dry spicy, and crisp finish. nhorween (640), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 15, 2009 11.5 oz. Hazy orange pour with a sticky white head. Smells great, and fresh. Hops, orange zest, yeast, pineapple, marmalade. Flavor is less exciting - pithy citrus in the middle with a mild, watery finish. Sort of a belgiany IPA I guess - balanced, and I don’t really have anything bad to say about it. SFLpunk (132), South Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 13, 2009 11.5 oz brown glass twist-top. No freshness date. Bottled conditioned.
Appearance: Nice golden hue with hints of amber. Sudsy white head which grips the Duvel tulip. Lots of particles even though a gentle pour.
Nose: Banana peel, spicy yeast notes, a little white pepper, sweet orange.
Palate: Moderately carbonated given the conditioning. Wow! Spicy on the back, lots of black and white pepper notes dancing with some earthy and fruity flavors. Green banana, leaves (wet and dried), tree bark, and some citrus. A really dry finish.
Notes: Wasn’t impressed right up until I put the beer in my mouth. Aroma/appearance were decent enough, but the spicy pepper thing on the palate really won me over. The finish is a little odd, and reduces some of the "drinkabilitly." A good beer. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Nice nose. Some cloves, other spices, sweet malts. Flavor is about the same, not quite as spicy, but still just as nice with a great, dry finish. Enjoyed drinking this one. DeputyAndy (85), New Jersey, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 4, 2009 Pours a nice dark-tea body with visible sediment chunks. Nose is strongly belgian but taste is more hoppy than a belgian; probably the British style coming through. jredmond (1057), New Jersey, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 3, 2009 12 oz bottle. Pours awesome body, hazy orange with sediment. Aroma is malt and monk with some alcohol. Taste is a bit hoppy, no sweet malt, not much alcohol as the aroma suggests. SpringsLicker (2043), Tennessee, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 2, 2009 Pours clear at first, there’s lots of yeast at the bottom of this one. A few small yeast "floaties". Tall, thick, long lasting white head that leaves a gorgeous lace on the glass.
Orange marmalade on toast aroma.
The flavor is lightly sweet with some dryness at the finish. Spicy and interesting.
