Orange marmalade on toast aroma.
The flavor is lightly sweet with some dryness at the finish. Spicy and interesting.

Hints of orange and coriander. A bit dry and hoppy in the end. Warm alcohol after that and a tiny bit bitter. Spicy and carbonated feeling on the palate. Nice complexity. Great beer ! Rating #23. Pours a cloudy light copper, with a beautiful, thick, creamy off-white cap.
Nose is nice and yeasty, spicy, with some tropical fruit poking through.
Taste is yeasty up front, very peppery and spicy, with a lightly fruity, dry, doughy malt note underneath. A grassy hop bitterness peeks through near the finish, blending with the the black pepper note, and along side the big spicy yeast note. Exhale is doughy, hints of apricot. Finish is long, bitter, peppery.
Mouthfeel is lush and creamy, light.
An exceptional take on one of my favorite styles. Fantastic. GMCC2181 (883), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 10, 2009 Bottle poured into a snifter, big frosty white head... Light orange in color. Nice aroma of light grassy hops. Texture is smooth. Really easy to drink. Taste is light touch of hops, fruityness and some yeast/bread characteristics. Also some spices. On the dry side with a medium carbonation leve. Overall I am impressed. nickd717 (1394), Palo Alto, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 29, 2009 Solid if not too exciting. Pours a nice golden color with white head, good retention. Aroma is yeasty with some hops. Taste is bread, Belgian yeast, honey, light fruits and mild hops. Not very complex but extremely drinkable. JCB (1796), Durham, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 26, 2009 11.2oz bottle from Sam’s, Durham. Straw yellow pour with a one finger head, fairly thick and with good sticky retention. Modest nose has some character, with soft floral notes and some pert yeast. Crisp and dry taste, but not overwhelmingly so, with just a hint of pepper in the finish and lingering light fruit flavors throughout. Impressive. alexsdad06 (1107), Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Pours hazy golden straw color with a huge fluffy lasting white head. Lacing was thick and chunky. The aroma is an inviting mix of fruits, peppery spice, pale malt, and light floral hops and grass. The flavor begins on a silky smooth note with lemon zest, yeast, pale malt, and fruit. Mid palate the peppery spice kicks in leading to a slightly hoppy (floral) drier somewhat bitter finish. Medium bodied and for the most part smooth. There is a slight spice burn in the middle. Very interesting and enjoyable.
