Commercial Description:
Équinoxe du Printemps (French for "spring equinox") is the quintessential marriage of two great traditions: beer brewing in Scotland, and maple syrup production in Quebec. At the first draught, the mouth is overcome by woody, malty flavours, sustained by a discrete touch of sweetness. The aftertaste brings about the flavours of maple, which are sufficiently present to be appreciated, but never overwhelming the typical flavours of a Scotch Ale.

Equinoxe du printemps is brewed only once a year in January. It is aged for two months in order to attain a perfect balance in taste. Then, it is sold starting March 21st, until stocks last.

bottle by way of glouglouburp.... rich looking hazy amber pour with a small tan head. the aroma is quite sweet... like butterscotch candy mixed with caramel, malt, faint maple, bubble gum and a touch of sour-ish earthiness akin to root vegetables fresh out of the garden. the flavor is pretty much the same with a bit of alcohol and and a kick of spiciness on the finish. there’s a definite note of wood and maple in the aftertaste. medium to full body with a stickiness which coats the lips. this is usually off putting but this has enough acidity, spice and alcohol heat so that it doesn’t get overbearing...

Dark brown color; the medium head reduces quickly. It has a strong caramel aroma, and light aroma of vegetables, spices, liquorice. Medium body, with strong caramel flavor, medium sweetness, and a mixed touch of spices and vegetables (cinnamon and carrots for example). Low bitterness; in the final the alcohol is a bit too much evident. It reminds me some young and recent Fuller’s Vintage ones, but simpler.
