JCB (1118), Durham, USA Nov 16, 2008 11.2oz from Glouglouburp - thanks, Dany! Dark, slightly cloudy amber. Very powerful malty smell, a barely detectable trace of pungent herbs, almost like mint with lamb, and a spicy note in there as well. Slight smoke, but cools out somehow – maybe a menthol sharpness is more accurate. Sweet as it warms, but not sticky. A hint of booze, but nice. Maria (4673), Thisted, Denmark Nov 2, 2008 It’s incredibly beautiful, slightly hazy dark red with a creamy and lasting head. The aroma has a light sweetness and it’s very aromatic. It has notes of roasted malt and syrup. The flavour has sweetness and notes of roasted malt with a light, roasted bitterness, loads of caramel, maple syrup, raisin and other dark/dried fruits. It’s very well composed and harmonic, but a little too sweet in the long run, but perfect for sharing. miketd (412), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Nov 1, 2008 Bottle from jjpm74. Pour is dark brown with some reddish highlight. Small white head rims the glass. Aroma is woddy, sweet and malty. very malty with live carbonation and sweet finish. Smooth and very drinkable. plovmand (761), Helsinge, Denmark Oct 27, 2008 Bottle. Poured reddish brown with creamy beige head. Fruity and malty with notes of caramel, strawberry and spices. Lots of sweet malt, fruits and spices in flavour end up warm and malty. Body is creamy and soft.
