Commercial Description:
This beer was born from the blending of two enduring traditions: Scottish brewing and Québec’s maple syrup production. It is a perfect balance between a maple beverage and beer. The taste of the maple syrup adds to the complexity of the beer, without being overpowering. The first draught fills the mouth with a taste of woody malt which is sustained by a discrete syrupy savour. The lingering aftertaste is one of warm alcohol which coats the mouth with the sweetness of maple toffee. Many maple beers have been brewed in Québec, however the ´ Équinoxe du printemps ª is the first to succeed in producing a beer that truly bears the essence of maple syrup.

Couleur rouge ambrée. Mince collet. Effervescente. Pas amer. Avec la lie, elle est plus douce. Goût assez fort.

Herbal, brandylike and wooden aromanotes. Cloudy brown to amber, low head. Fairly wooden nutty start, light smoke, roasted notes, fruit as from belgian yeast medium body, light sparkly mouthfeel.

11.2oz from Glouglouburp - thanks, Dany! Dark, slightly cloudy amber. Very powerful malty smell, a barely detectable trace of pungent herbs, almost like mint with lamb, and a spicy note in there as well. Slight smoke, but cools out somehow – maybe a menthol sharpness is more accurate. Sweet as it warms, but not sticky. A hint of booze, but nice.

It’s incredibly beautiful, slightly hazy dark red with a creamy and lasting head. The aroma has a light sweetness and it’s very aromatic. It has notes of roasted malt and syrup. The flavour has sweetness and notes of roasted malt with a light, roasted bitterness, loads of caramel, maple syrup, raisin and other dark/dried fruits. It’s very well composed and harmonic, but a little too sweet in the long run, but perfect for sharing.

Bottle. Poured reddish brown with creamy beige head. Fruity and malty with notes of caramel, strawberry and spices. Lots of sweet malt, fruits and spices in flavour end up warm and malty. Body is creamy and soft.
