Ungstrup (11408), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 13, 2005 A pitch black beer wtih a lasting brown head. The aroma is sweet roasted with light notes of coffee - and in general the aroma is a bit light, but that was just coming off Peche Mortel. The flavor is sweet with coffee dominating, but also with lots of roasted malt. Another nice brew from Dieu du Ciel.
Rciesla (910), Brick City, New Jersey, USA Sep 25, 2008 DDC Draft. Black body with a tan head. Lots of bitter chocolate, vanilla, carmel sweet taste. Etoh is noticable in a fruit like flavor complementing the chocolate. Real Good. . Taktik_MTL (1983), Montréal-Nord, Quebec, Canada Sep 16, 2008 En fût. (Rating #1960) kmweaver (2129), Sparks, Nevada, USA Sep 15, 2008 Draft @ DDC 10th Anniversary Party. Pours a very dark, chocolate-brown color; creamy, textured medium-brown head with great retention and fine-bubbled lacing; a gorgeous beer. Lots of roasted malts, bitter chocolate, and dry cocoa in the aroma; hidden alcohol; soft, generous nose. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: plenty of roasted nuts, roasted malts, dark chocolate and bitter cocoa; soft edges; creamy, complex, highly roasted and lots of bitter chocolate; very drinkable, nutty, enjoyable imperial stout. Lengthy finish: roasted / charred malts, nuttiness and dark chocolate; nicely dry. elihapa (318), Connecticut, USA May 16, 2008 1/18/08 notes: on tap at DdC. Hands down best beer of the night which included Peche Mortel. Features a brown head that doesn’t go away. Flavors include creamy vanilla, nutty, and a little malt sweetness, Perfect balance and thick mouthfeel makes this a real pleasure to drink. This is really something special. I think the vanilla and creamy mouthfeel set this apart. LadySusan (374), Ste-Therese, Quebec, Canada Apr 6, 2008 On tap at D.D.C. The color is black with a heavy beige head. The aroma is of smokey malt. The taste is also of smokey malt and liquorice and dark chocolat. The aftertaste is long lasting with the taste of 85 % chocolat .
