| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 23, 2009 Clear rust in colour with a long lasting medium sized tan head, good lacing.
The aroma is quite hoppy, juicy, some pine, caramel malts.
The flavour is of citrus hops, oranges, pine forest, lots of caramel malt sweetness, moderate bitterness.
Hoppy bitter mouthfeel, medium body, moderate carbonation.
Finishes long, hoppy, quite bitter and dry.
A big beer for being 5%, seems larger then that. Good balance and excellent mouthfeel and drinkability.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Bottle. Brown pour with reddish tints and a frothy white head. Berry nose (raspberries and cherries) and some candied dark fruits and toffee. Taste is interesting, quite sweetand fruity (cherry), kind of heavy. Watery mouthfeel, this beer has lost some of it’s fresh crisp it used to have but has kept very well nonetheless. probstk (1064), Nepean, Ontario, Canada

App.: Murky deep amber with a large, messy tan froth.
Aroma: Quite fruity, bright berries and tart cherries, some dark dried fruits, supported well by brown sugar and minty molasses, a little nuttiness, some citrus, some even-darker malts of coffee/dark chocolate (sparing), sort of a soapy earthiness.
Palate: Medium body with restrained effervescence, the occasional sharp bubble.
Flav.: More stark than the nose, nutty, slightly earthy malts, a touch of brown sugar and treacle, but in a dry, stern, British fashion, still a touch soapy, none of the bright/tangy fruit notes, still a touch of darker malts; dry with fair bitterness and a pleasant roasted malt finish.
An interesting brew that held up nicely. To be expected from DDC... jkwalking05 (1501), Arlington, Texas, USA
