Commercial Description:
If you love really good coffee and really good beer equally, you will be thrilled with Péché Mortel. If coffee isn’t your cup of tea, and caffeine makes you bounce off the ceiling, then just put the bottle down and find something else to drink. This beer is all about coffee. Indeed, you may have seen ‘coffee stouts’ before, but no brewer has ever married coffee and beer so naturally and seamlessly.
And this isn’t just any stout, but an imperial stout, which means that it is modeled on the strong, rich, and very complex stouts that were made in England in the 19th and early 20th centuries exclusively for shipment to Russia, where they were a special favorite at the court of the Czars.

Pours a pitch black color with a medium, creamy light brown head that leaves beautifull lacing on the glass. Amazing, mind blowing aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and cake icing. Amazing flavor of dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and cake icing. It has a great balance throughout the tasting process, the chocolate, coffee and malt are pretty much even, no given element dominates the others, instead they join in harmony creating pure liquid orgasm. Very full body, liquorous texture and soft carbonation. This liquid wonder is a meal and a dessert in the same time, it’s a truly amazing and mind blowing achievement.

Black with a low grey head. Amazing aroma of coffee, cocoa and black chocolate fills the glass! And the flavour just absolutely stuns me. It starts out sweet and bitter like cafe latte, and then the bitterness really starts sneaking in with earthy notes below. It is full bodied with a creamy texture and carries its percentages frightingly well. This is really a sublime brew... One of the best brews I’ve tasted so far. It certainly blew me away.

WOW brew for me. Dark rich with some coco and coffee nibs. Cleaned up with nice acidity and no noticable alcohol. I could see this brew aging quite well for a couple of years. Would seek this out again though I haven’t seen it out west.

Pour is a thick black with a small tan head. Aroma is a extremly roasted malt with lots of coffee and some follow up alcohol. Flavor is intense coffee with again loads of roasted malt and strong dark chocolate. Finish leaves a roasted quality all over the palate. Pretty expensive at $5 a bottle but this is a tasty treat especially if you like your coffee strong and black.

Black as night. Smell of burnt logs and dark roast coffee. Lots and lots of burnt roasty malt and coffee. Fair amount of balance for a big coffee stout. Coffee brews are my favorite, and this was right up there with the best of them.

Very dark black colored brew. Strong aroma of coffee, espresso-beans, roasted malty goodness :) Flavor is very well balanced if you let it rest for a while. Smooth coffee flavor with some chocolates and other roasted malts. A bit creamy even. Very good warming mouthfeel. Very nice.
