skoisirius (480), Seattle, Washington, USA May 21, 2008 Yep...this is one of those beers that makes me glad to be alive. Thank whatever god exists in the Universe that this beer has finally made it to Washington. ’Nuff said.
santoslhalper (208), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 16, 2008 Very dark black with faint ruby hues. On top sits a rich frothy brown head. Looks devilish. Coffee, of course, in the aroma, but tons of complexity as well. Molasses, chocolate, soy sauce, brown sugar, anise, brownie batter and very light alcohol. The taste is predominately coffee and espresso, but the rich flavors of roasted malts blends perfectly. Lots of molasses and bittersweet chocolate. The lingering alcohol burn in the chest is quite welcome. Overall this is fantastic, one of the best coffee brews to ever cross my lips. TikiE (353), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Oct 14, 2008 Bottled: a simply delicious imperial stout! Pours a dark color with a big tan head. Smells of roasted coffee beans and tastes of sweetly roasted malts and coffee, that lasts on the palate. A great beer! Collint (349), Sylva, North Carolina, USA Oct 14, 2008 Bottle, pours a black beer with a huge tan creamy head. Aroma is pure coffee, roast and chocolate. Flavor is a clean taste of coffee and sweet malt with complex notes of roast and a great smoothness. This is a very nice suprise from TikiE. Very simalar to the Wake & Bake, maybe better AmicusBeer (12), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 13, 2008 Think stong chocolate coffee aroma. Pours think with a nice head. Very stong coffee nose. Not a session beer. Great desert beer. Great match with chocolate. Strykzone (1023), Wood River, Illinois, USA Oct 12, 2008 A beautiful pour, it is black, thick, and substantial with a two toned head of tan and brown. Two fingers in size. Aroma is iced coffee with roasted notes, whiskey, and dark fruit. Flavor is delicious and complex. Strong coffee, dark chocolate, alcohol, raisins. Feel is smooth and powdery. Flavors welded together beautifully as temp rose. This beer is incredibly well crafted and is absolutely delicious. A world class effort.
