Commercial Description:
If you love really good coffee and really good beer equally, you will be thrilled with Péché Mortel. If coffee isn’t your cup of tea, and caffeine makes you bounce off the ceiling, then just put the bottle down and find something else to drink. This beer is all about coffee. Indeed, you may have seen ‘coffee stouts’ before, but no brewer has ever married coffee and beer so naturally and seamlessly.
And this isn’t just any stout, but an imperial stout, which means that it is modeled on the strong, rich, and very complex stouts that were made in England in the 19th and early 20th centuries exclusively for shipment to Russia, where they were a special favorite at the court of the Czars.

(Draught) Finally found it on tap this early November - Finally! This is the first time of five tries; and was it worth it? Yes... and No. For me, the Péché Mortel isn't as good as the Aphrodisiaque. Its as complex and rich but I definitely prefer the chocolate cake flavour to Péché's carbon taste. Pours a brown head and opaque body. Cascading rise of bubbles is quite mesmerizing... Charcoal nose with hints of unsweetened German chocolate. Rich, full flavour of dark chocolate in a vat of recycled motoroil. Smokey. Bitter. Thick. Delicious!

Very dark black with faint ruby hues. On top sits a rich frothy brown head. Looks devilish. Coffee, of course, in the aroma, but tons of complexity as well. Molasses, chocolate, soy sauce, brown sugar, anise, brownie batter and very light alcohol. The taste is predominately coffee and espresso, but the rich flavors of roasted malts blends perfectly. Lots of molasses and bittersweet chocolate. The lingering alcohol burn in the chest is quite welcome. Overall this is fantastic, one of the best coffee brews to ever cross my lips.

Bottled: a simply delicious imperial stout! Pours a dark color with a big tan head. Smells of roasted coffee beans and tastes of sweetly roasted malts and coffee, that lasts on the palate. A great beer!

Bottle, pours a black beer with a huge tan creamy head. Aroma is pure coffee, roast and chocolate. Flavor is a clean taste of coffee and sweet malt with complex notes of roast and a great smoothness. This is a very nice suprise from TikiE. Very simalar to the Wake & Bake, maybe better

Think stong chocolate coffee aroma. Pours think with a nice head. Very stong coffee nose. Not a session beer. Great desert beer. Great match with chocolate.

A beautiful pour, it is black, thick, and substantial with a two toned head of tan and brown. Two fingers in size. Aroma is iced coffee with roasted notes, whiskey, and dark fruit. Flavor is delicious and complex. Strong coffee, dark chocolate, alcohol, raisins. Feel is smooth and powdery. Flavors welded together beautifully as temp rose. This beer is incredibly well crafted and is absolutely delicious. A world class effort.
