sayravai (2993), Helsinki, Finland May 15, 2008 (Bottled) Almost black with a small, lacy and beige head. Extremely strong ashtray aroma with some licorice, but no alcohol. Burned-malty, very ashy flavor with tar, seaweed, and an ashy-sticky barley wine finish. Quite full-bodied, smooth-carbonated palate. It is strange how a beer so ashy can actually be this pleasant. Beautifully crafted!

The aroma offers a beautiful balance of sweet chocolate and roasted coffee - working together well. The coffee is slightly more bitter in the body, working with the lightly bitter hops. Lots of fudge, bittersweet chocolate, vanilla beans follow. Finishes with a scorched java note. Very good. mar (505), Dallas, Texas, USA Jul 15, 2008 black pour with a thick espresso head. nothing but bold coffee on the nose. slight chocolate flavor in the finish and a huge roasted coffee flavor upfront. it went very well with the brownie i was having as well. daknole (514), Plantation, Florida, USA Jul 15, 2008 Thanks to bitbucket!!! Pours a nice black color with a small brown head that sticks to the glass with each sip. Aroma is purely coffee and bitter chocolate. Flavor is coffee, burnt malts, bitter dark chocolate and some hops. It is smooth and full bodied. I do taste some of the alcohol, but not too much of a burn. Very nice brew indeed. Glad I finally got to try it!! walleye (808), Sterling Heights, Michigan, USA Jul 13, 2008 From the 12 oz bottle. Poured adark brown with a nice big brown head. Aroma mild coffee, raosted malts, dark fruits, molasses, chocolate. Flavor same as a aroma, the alcohol is nice and smooth. good beer
