I thought I’d try a modest blond ale to see what DDC could do with that lower-rung style. While the beer was moderately enjoyable - spicy aroma, crisp palate, and soft hoppy/fruity flavor - it was mostly quite forgettable.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 15, 2009 On tap at DDC. It was a golden yellow with a thin head and excellent lace. The aroma was light, with malty over tones. The taste and palate were light bitterness and watery. This was a nice beer, but not a winner for me. Maybe this would change on a hot day but not so much in the dark of winter. fiulijn (7370), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Golden coloured with a solid white head on top. Aroma is very held back, lightly malty with odd nearly chemical notes that draw close to blood and bitter grass. Flavour is the same which is a let down, malty, fairly balanced but with odd off-notes that doesn’t peak away enough for me to give it a really low score though. Ok but kind of pointless really. | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 31, 2009 Have to agree with the previous reviewer that this beer is proof that great breweries also make a crappy beer or two. Very cereal taste with a strong, bitter finish that as someone else mentioned tastes peppery. Reminds me a bit of a hot pepper flavoured beer I tried once. Very unbalanced beer.
