Commercial Description:
Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation.

This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.

Bottle. L: Black, brown head. S: Lot’s and lot’s of coffee, bitter dark chocolate, small smokeiness. T: Sweet at first, COFFEE, cream, some roasted taste (roasted coffee beans). Ov: Good IS. The taste is a little short and it’s too coffee dominated.

12 oz bottle. Pours dark dark body with great lacing. The aroma is strong coffee and something sweet, maybe hazelnut or mocha beans. The taste is very coffee dominated, but great beer - no alcohol in the taste.

Pours black with thick clinging brown head first thing that comes at you in the aroma is that of coffee like a good expresso, roasted heavy malts almost burnt, flavors is that of coffee roasted malts with a little dark choclate some vanilla and smoke but most of all its abut the coffee bean oh yea bottle via trade with daknole been sitting on this for a while but diffently worth the wait as beer warms the massive amount of hops needed to balence this start to come out

Péché Mortel pours pitch black with a slow forming, thick, dense, lumpy, mocha-colored head that has outstanding retention and lacing. It has a strong roasted coffee aroma. It is full bodied and very smooth with a quick finish that kind of leaves the tongue in shock. It is well bittered and very roasty. There is a slight hint of sweetness, like molasses. It’s well balanced and warming. It’s not for chugging. It took be a couple hours to get through the glass.

Butters Big Blowout - Pours a dark brown with tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and coffee, hint of chocolate. Taste the same, definitely felt like a nice shot of expresso. Nice bitter finish. Excellent Imperial Stout

Butters’ cellar blowout tasting ye hah. They’re not joking. Coffee is all over this brew in aromas and flavors. Explosive richness. Dark roasty java is all I can think of right now. Creamy. This brew does hide the alcohol well. Well well balanced for its extremity. Love it!

Bottle shared at Butter’s Big Cellar Blowout. Black pour with wispy tan head. Nose is massive coffee, and not much else. Flavor is very similar, massively rich, with some chocolate. And a woody quality like licking a stick. This is a great coffee stout. Absolutely hidden abv, and amazing name and label.

Bottle at Butters Big Cellar Blowout. Pours a tan head and a dark brown body. Smells of coffee and chocolate. Flavor is coffee, chocolate, and alcohol. Finish is bitter coffee and delicious.
