Commercial Description:
Péché Mortel (French for "Mortal Sin") is an intensely black and dense beer with very pronounced roasted flavours. Fair trade coffee is infused during the brewing process, intensifying the bitterness of the beer and giving it a powerful coffee taste. Péché mortel is brewed to be savored; we invite you to drink it in moderation.

This stout style, high in alcohol and bitterness in order to favour preservation, was historically brewed to support the long and arduous voyage necessary to export the beer from England to Russia. The word Imperial comes from the fact that the beer was specially brewed for the Russian tsar’s court.

Bottle @ Gingerman.... from mr . Jaffey. Thanks !! Pours black with brownish highlights and an espresso crema like head. Aroma is roasted malts and sweet coffee. Mouthfeel is thick and satisfying, look at the glass and the color is impenetrable, no light shines through. Serious imperial stout, seriously delicious. Would drink it all day and night if I could !

Bottle at Novare Res. Yes. Yes. Yes. This beer pours a dark dark blackish color with a dark brown head. You can tell this puppy means business. The aroma is well sweet malt and coffee. The flavor is the same sweet malt and coffee. But the marriage in this beer is what’s important. The flavors meld together in perfect sweet harmony. It’s like liquid coffee beer bliss, this is utterly fantastic.

Bottle Pours out pitch black topped with a cream tan head. Aroma of coffee, rich roast malts, and some sweetness. Tast was more of the coffee and plenty of rich roast. A nice dark chocolate and some pit fruit on the end.

Traded bottle. Pours oil black with a medium brown head. Huge aroma of burt malt, dry ground coffee and a little chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel with flavours of super bitter coffee, baking chocolate and some smoke. Good but maybe a little heavy on the coffee bitterness for my tastes.

Bottle care of hannont, thank you Todd! pours totally black with a smallish tan head. Aroma is huge coffee and chocolate, roasted malt and dark fruit. Flavor is coffee and chocolate up front roasted malt and a bit of earthiness in the finish. Very smooth and rich stout, very nice start to an evening of coffee stouts.

Bottle at Haket, Göteborg. Black color, lasting creamy brown head. Cocoa aroma, coffee, salt, quite bitter, licorice notes, hoppy, metal notes, a bit earthy, and with dry chocolate. Chocolate flavor, cocoa, dry bitterness, hops, earthy, with dark fruits and coffee.

Huge thanks to Honkeybra for getting me this one. Crushed with Jakebra. Big dark fruits and coffee on the nose. The coffee blends beautifully in the flavor. It’s a little thin bodied, but fuck, it’s so good I’m not going to complain anymore. Roast, coffee, dark fruits. Fantastic brew.

Small tan head fades fast.Roast coffee/alcohol nose. Big coffee roast profile, med alcohol heat. Good roast bitterness in finish
