Nightfall (645), Athens, Greece Aug 26, 2008 Small bottle found at Beer Paradise in Holstebro. Pitch black with small dark head. Aroma is full of great qulaity coffee and some roasted malt. Flavor is again string coffee, roasted malts and some vanilla flavor lingering in the back. Extremely well made. PaulHegedus (458), Georgetown, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2008 Bottle at Volo, Aug 7, 2008. Ralph served this and said, this is the first bottle of Peche Mortel legally sold in Ontario. Crazy. The beer is crazier, especially for one in which coffee is added, as it still remains incredibly well balanced. With our cheese and apricot jelly/chutney it was unreal. Smooth, thick mouthfeel; tremendous aroma and super complex layers of coffee, roasted flavours. Magnifique! darn1207 (528), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Aug 25, 2008 12oz bottle from new beer distributors in manhattan. dark brown color with a medium pillowy brown head that stick around. roasted coffee and chocolate aroma. expected coffee flavor with a moderately bitter ashy aftertaste. also some nuttiness in the taste. palate is medium to thin - but is still creamy. as a coffee lover, this one was right up my alley. K-8 Flamojune (93), Ville de Quebec, Quebec, Canada Aug 25, 2008 Mérite pleinement sa place dans le top 50. Du café en bouteille. World class. Bullit (1300), Glasgow, Scotland Aug 24, 2008 Bottle, thx to NoiZe. Pitch black colour, tan head. Aroma has bitter chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Flavour has initially bitter coffe, but gets smoother with roasted malts. Long lasting aftertaste of bittersweet chocolate malts. Impressive! Gethinbeer (995), Nova Scotia, Canada Aug 23, 2008 Bottle. Strong coffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Oooh its fighting, strong coffee coming through. Jet black appearance. Very crisp stained brown frothy head. Very impressive flavours in this beer. Coffee, chocolate fighting to be the most dominant. Cant make out if it wants to be a bitter chocolate milkshake or an iced coffee. Very tasty stout with the boot to kick you in the arse, but it does it so delicately. This brewery has impressed me once again. Great stuff. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Aug 23, 2008 i finally get this off my wishlist (originally put on 9/18/2006) ... from LS .. lots of chocolate, tobacco, and coffee aroma’s ... great brad pitt lacing ... it really coats the mouth so wonderfully .. very nice aftertaste ... is roasty and has an espresso/ chocolate battle going on ... not overdone, but very bold .. a great brew! cbeers21 (563), Miami, Florida, USA Aug 23, 2008 Wow beautiful pour and it smells like a coffee shop. Bittering mocha aromas balanced with chocolate and vanilla whispers, but the aroma is dominated by a prevalent and bittering coffee influence. The taste mirrors the aroma and doesnt evolve much past that. smells and looks great, and is a tasty brew yet I somehow wished it could have taken it to the next level of the perfect beer. Still very good.
