How: Tap, nitro-tap, cask, bottle. Many many many times.
The look: Opaque black body with a tan head (long tasting nitro-tap, short-lived from the bottle)
In long: Intense roasted coffee beans nose. Taste develops chocolate flavour reminiscent of powdery extra-high % (99%) cacao black chocolate bars along with the roasted coffee beans. Medium-high roastiness level. The high roasted level makes for a semi-dry beer that is surprisingly highly drinkable for a 9.5% brew. I can drink bottle after bottle without getting tired of it. Alcohol is well hidden and more importantly there is almost no sweetness apparent. Pours an opaque mindnight black. Small tan head and a bit of lacing. Aroma is like walking into a Starbucks, but better. Lots of coffee, sweet malts and maybe a touch of fruits. As much coffee was in the aroma, it tasted like it more so!! Much coffee flavor, a good bit of malt, a touch of molasses. Wonderful mouthfeel. Divinely drinkable. I would never have guessed at the 9.5% abv. Ughsmash (4062), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA

Intricate lacing as this went down. I loved the power of the fresh coffee in the nose. Vanilla, and espresso were also prominent in the roasty aroma. Creamy, clean, and very smooth on the palate... almost too smooth. Medium-bodied. Flavor was a wonderful coffee-fest (and they used the good grind). I was feeling juiced after about a third of this. Vanilla and caramel were also present, but to a lesser extent. I found a little oak and alcohol warmth alongside the coffee on the finish. This was not the most complex brew on the market, but it was extremely well-crafted, and a true pleasure to drink... if you like coffee. fluids (364), USA

Alchohol is masked beautifully. A rarity as far as being available in bottles. Available at Colonial Spirits. sliffy (2012), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Nice black pour with a decent sized creamy head. Strong roated coffee smell, that was really inviting. Dark bitter coffe up front with a chocolate and just a hint of dark fruit. Nice dry finish. thornecb (1802), Marblehead, Massachusetts, USA

I think Landseer brought this. Excellent aroma, that is all coffee. Strongest coffee aroma I have sensed in a beer. Pours jet black with nice off white head. Very nice mouthfeel, which is feathery and velvety, and not heavy at all. Like the aroma, the flavor is dominated by coffee, but its not bitter and burnt, just a pleasant medium roast that goes down easy. Some notes of chocolate and vanilla are in the background. Best Coffee stout to date for me. If you do not like coffee, stay away. This is probably one of the few $18 beers that is actually worth every penny JJClark (546), Roscoe, Illinois, USA
