Amazing thick roasted coffee flavours soothe your taste buds and a very bitter and dry coffee finish leaves you wanting to drink more. Absolutely wonderful, I’m in heaven.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2009 Bottle. Pours a black liquid with a beige, creamy head. Aroma is very roasted and a bit sweet with a hint of vanilla, lots of coffee and some green notes of salad and asparagus. Taste is roasted with some sweet notes of honey and vanilla, a hint of vegetables and a lot of coffee, especially in the finish. Heavy roasted bitterness. Really good. wilderthanyou (418), Guelph, Ontario, Canada
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 7, 2009 This is the best Canadian stout I have ever had, hands down, the best, no question.
Pours a motor oil black with a short lived off white head. The aroma is big on black, premium roast coffee, espresso, lightly acidic, spicy, chocolaty, delicious, lighter notes of old suitcases and anise. The flavour follows suit, big on the high end espresso, bit of leather, chocolate, roastiness, light acidity, a very subtle note of licorice, ends with more espresso. This beer is the bee’s knees of coffee stouts, I mean there are some really good coffee stouts out there, but this is the first one where the characteristics of the coffee really shine through, so good, I would say it rivals Southern Tier’s Jah-Va stout. | 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Bottle. Poured black with a small beige head. Aroma is loaded with espresso and a bit of acidic roasty malt. The flavor is as awesome as I could ever expect from a coffee beer. It has a high quality espresso taste backed up with chocolate and toasty malt stout flavor. Overall, this is a very biting, bitter, rich beer. It has a noticable alcohol warmth at the end and a rich, slightly oily feel in your mouth. Very, very good. I enjoyed this immensely with pumpkin pie and vanilla ice cream today. Pours an extremely dark brown color body, with a small tan brown head, diminishing. Strong aroma of coffee, espresso. All I get is the coffee. Very carbonated, strong coffee taste, biting. Might be the alcohol. Alcoholy aftertaste for sure. Roasted taste. A little too strong coffee and not much else for my liking. gyllenbock (289), Stockholm, Sweden
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 5, 2009 Bottle. The color was completely black, the head was brown and looked very creamy. The wonderful aroma was dominated by coffee there was also some chocolate, roasted malt tones and even a touch of vanilla.
A huge dose of coffee in the taste but also some chocolate and roasted malt, as in the aroma. The beer was really nicely balanced. Full-bodied, a little greasy feeling at the liquid and a long and pleasant aftertaste. Very nice! Linnet (121), Umeå, Sweden
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2009 Deeeep black colour, thin brown head and a thick lacing on the glass.
Aroma is full of coffee, coffee, ashes, tar almost like an ash tray, but in a good way. Flavour is also dominated by coffee, is extremely unbalanced and acidic so much so that it makes it fantasticly interesting and also demanding. Mouthfeel is smooth, just smooth. One word Ashes! bonk0076 (70), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Pours the darkest brown color possible with a massive brown head. Aroma is a blend of espresso and dark chocolate. Taste is the same, starting with the bitter coffee flavor, blended with a bit of vanilla, but finishing with a dark, hershey bar flavor.
