| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 10, 2009 Bottle. Body is the color of dark leather and supports medium-sized beige head. Aromas are a little more subtle than I expected... kind of a brown sugar and dark fruit mix, but not quite full enough. Flavor, on the other hand, is full and interesting with plenty to offer. It has an odd creaminess to it, that seems a bit out of place at first as it plays against the brown sugar, fruit and alcohol. After a bit, though, it seems much more at home and is downright enjoyable. hopdog (5609), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a medium and slightly hazy brownish color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roastiness, chocolate, brown sugary, yeasty, dark fruitiness, and earthy. Tastes of roast, dark fruitiness (dark cherries), candi sugar, licorice, caramel, lighter earthiness, and chocolate. Medium alcohol burn in the finish. Tmoney99 (4778), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA

Poured a clear brown color with an average creamy brown head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy earthy, yeasty and alcohol aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth sticky texture and soft carbonation. Medium to heavy bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration with a small alcohol burn.
This is a good complex brew. dmschefke (371), Eastpointe, Michigan, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2009 Pours a deep brown with medium off-white head, minimal lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, dried tart and dark fruit, sugar, and chocolate. Flavor matches well and is quite complex. Finish is a bit hot and could probably use some mellowing in the cellar, just like the bottle says, age it at least 6 months... I just couldn’t wait! MJGG (423), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
Bigmmartin (375), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Bottle split with AndyReynolds. I’ve been wanting to try this one for awhile now. It didn’t let me down. Nice sweet aroma of malts and chocolate. Flavor is complex, with all kinds of fruit and sweet undertones on top of thick malts. All complimented by a wonderful, smooth feel and finish. My only regret is that I shared half of it! I’ll definitely give this one another shot eventually. Probably put a few away in the cellar as well.
