pintbypint (879), Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Jun 8, 2008 341ml brown bottle, from Goldorak! Poured a surprise pink/orange coloured with a fast fading white head. Hazy. No signs of lace in the glass. Aroma is floral, trace of spice, lemon and grass - a mix of fruity and sour. Flavour is of dryish wheat malt, lemon accents, a touch acidic, yet it has breif visits of tropical fruit (and/or fruit punch). Dry finish, tight active carbonation. Interesting brew, a bit wit-like, a bit fruity, a bit funky.
JK (2479), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Oct 5, 2008 Pink color and aroma of lager yeast. Light malt. Some flower and fruit flavor, and it is real fruit. Not very sweet, but light and delicate with the flower flavor. mgermani (617), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Oct 2, 2008 Pours a cloudy pink with a lovely pink head with poor retention. Aroma of melon, rose, sweet herb (coriander-like). Light sweet & fruity taste with a hint of rose-water followed up by coriander and arrowroot. Lingering grainy sweetness. Thin undercarbonated body. A very light but interesting beer, well balanced and executed. beerbill (1312), Laurel, New York, USA Sep 27, 2008 Bottle received as a beer-of-the-month selection. Pours a lovely red with tinits of amber and rose pink. A very unique color actually, and I like it. Moderate off-white head with a blush of pink to it as well that faded away after the first two sips. Pleasant floral aroma with some light sour notes picked up in the nose as well. The flavor slides back a bit with malt up front followed by some hibiscus (if you’ve ever had hibiscus tea, you’ll recongnize the flavor). The flavors seem to evaporate quickly, although there is a residual tartness that lingers briefly. A different beer that is worth trying. GreatLibations (1294), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Sep 24, 2008 Pours a pinkish apricot color with a shortlived froth that disintegrates to nothing. Aroma is floral with some malty perfume. Full nectar with good carbonation. This brew is malt driven with moderate spice and a floral arrangement. I taste some citrus of the orange sort. The finish has an acidic tone to it while leaving a lingering orange yogurt taste in the mouth. Tasty indeed. MatSciGuy (236), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Sep 21, 2008 Pours an odd muddy brownish red with a large pink head of fine bubbles. Aroma is surprisingly yeasty, fruity, a whole lot of wheat, and an underlying, unfamiliar sort of tropical aroma hiding, which is presumably the hibiscus. Flavor is... woah. Quite different. A slightly off tropical flavor reminiscent of suntan lotion hits the palate on the first sip. A surprising tartness. A slightly earthy flavor. A quite refreshing beer, with a multitude of flavors, but the suntan lotion thing is putting me off just a little. Otherwise quite a nice beer.
