Parket (219), Bruges, Belgium Oct 4, 2009 bottle, amber colour and small and unstable white head. Smell: coriander and candysugar. Taste: sweet, sugary, hoppy, nice spices, malty. For me it’s a good Belgian ale! JanEric (167), Meppel, Netherlands Aug 7, 2009 Dark amber coloured, pours out with a white head, a bit staying in the glass. Aroma is sweet, with hints of caramel and honey. Also in the taste caramel, candy, a bit bitterness, finish could last longer. Not bad. marcus (1826), Sacramento, California, USA Jul 20, 2009 This light copper ale poured with a decent off-white head and a toffee aroma. There is a wonderful caramel malt flavor with significant hopping and some unidentifiable taste that makes this an interesting brew. bhensonb (4187), Woodland, California, USA Jul 15, 2009 Bottle at Cambrinus in Brugge. Pours clean amber with a large frothy off-white head. Aromas of mixed hop - somewhat grassy. Near medium body with mild carbonation. Very smooth brown malt taste with grassy bitter, and something more. Good, but not familiar. Very pleasant drinking beer. MennoO (112), Haarlem, Netherlands Jun 26, 2009 bottle, amber clear with medium head. very nice dry sweet beer that’s very drinkable. i like it JK (2946), Richfield, Minnesota, USA Jun 22, 2009 Surprising aroma of Asian pear. Amber color. Some spice, peppers, garlic, and ginger. Amber color. Dry and all malt, with no hop presenece of sweetness from the malt. MagnumPI (56), Essex, England Jun 13, 2009 DIKE HATE MILK !
I always love it when I have the glass to accompany the beer. Been looking forward to taking this from the cellar for some time, and as it had passed its best before date, felt it was about time. Very interesting amber colour, a bit like an Orval, which made up for the very uninteresting aroma. The taste felt like citrus in particular orange or mandarin, but without the lip smacking floridity of a St Feuillien. This was a sipper and a sharp aftertaste kept you from writing it off. The label looks better than the beer which is a bit of a shame but then it is one hell of a label cosmicpolly (26), Bruges, Belgium Apr 17, 2009 bottle 25 cl. I drunk it at the Cambrinus café in Bruges. Amber colour and it tastes like oranges, spices and a little bit of caramel. Not one of my favourite beers, but I definitely would try it again.
