(Bottle 25 cl) A three grain beer with juniper is rather unusual, even for Belgium. Very dark, light brownish head. Lots of sweetness but not cloying due to the low alcohol. And the hops are indeed present as well. Strange but very pleasant. 010693

Arguably the weirdest beer I’ve ever drank--I did not like the harsh juniper and herbal undertones of this beer at all. I will say this--I had it a number of years ago and it is well and truly unforgettable!

Great aroma, rich and malty and extremely drinkable brown belgian ale. Head retention is low. Balance is on the malt's side. Otherwise it is a great smelling, simple little belgian ale.

Regal ruby red brown with medium small mid-tan head. Malt sweet, cooked pasta, and lighter coffee, dried fruit and yeast aroma. Predominantly malty sweet (too sweet for me) flavours. Weak bitter finish and flat cola sweet after taste. I got no juniper at any stage with this one. It reminds me of stronger and more aromatic malternative.

I love juniper so I’m all over this dark juniper ale. I got lost in Ghent trying to find the frickin’ Hopduvel and when I got there I was parched. Why I bought this first I’ll never know but it did the trick. Refreshing herbaceousness, smooth, sweet malt backbone, slightly full and oily body.
