(Bottle). Aroma is hay, slightly sour. Pale golden body, foamy white head. Flavor is straw and yeast, lightly bitter, then becomes somewhat spicy in the finish. Not great, but not nearly as bad as some of the ratings would have it.

[on tap at Spazz in Heilbronn] Typical pils aroma, balanced towards hops. Bright gold with a lacy white cover. Very bitter and dry with only a little malt and hops flavour which are overpowered by the hops bitterness. Light body, medium carbonation, moderately bitter finish.

Fair pils --- light in color with a lot of cereal on the nose. Stiff cardboard on the tongue, but not sharp or unpleasant. Nice finish as compared to other German beers in the same family. Lots of malt. Middle of the road pilsener for me.

This is not bad, a definite German-style pilsner but with a rather thin, mass-produced quality to it. It’s not nearly close to the top examples, but it’s a lot better than the likes of Beck’s and is clean and crisp. Gold and bright, it has a smallish, off-white head soon thinning to a bubbly top and ring. The smell is grass, bread, sulphur, and spice - very German. The taste is also very German with mostly grass-and-herbs hop character on a crisp, thin malt backbone with hints of bread, apple, and honey. It has a very German, very crisp, butter herb/grass finish, tingly, refreshing. It’s definitely on the thin, yet hoppy and bitter side.

Decent German beer with a good taste to it. For me it was a little bitter in the taste and after taste. I definitely a good German hefe-weizen though. But for a pilsner its good.
