| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 16, 2004 Since I just reviewed Warsteiner, and I am remembering brews I have had at that German restaurant once again, here is another decent pick. Standard pilsner which also goes down pretty smooth and has a light character. Overall an average choice, but anything not American is always a change of pace. 11026 (1796), Alabama, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 12, 2004 Bottle. Pours a typical yellowish color. Moderate white head fades quickly with decent lacing. Aroma is grassy and somewhat spicy, a little skunking. Taste is crisp and somewhat dry, a little malt and a little hop. Hops play nicely in the finish. Fair, wouldn’t refuse to have again.

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 6, 2004 Smells like a light version of Chili Creek, kinda spicey, and that peppery smell. Paper thin head, and gold body. Light body, not repulsive like a macro is, just a good lawnmower brew. Kinda watery, malty, corn, tea. Sully (1367), Woolloomooloo, New South Wales, Australia
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 9, 2004 I expected a soundtrack with this one. I tried to stick it into my DVD but that too didn’t work. So I decided to drink the contents instead and stop being silly. After all, it may have been that CD stood for the brand of tablets that the beer was made out of. Speaking of Pils, was I ecstatic about this beer? Frenkly no, one of the problems I think that a beer like this has is the extended journey to our shores. Age either gives a skunkiness but if there is no exposure to light there is some flavour that tastes like autolysis. given that this is presumably a filtered beer such a comment seems odd but any residual yeast seems to have munched on itself to give rise to an unpleasant seet and cloying characteristic. I need to drink a fresh one. I do note a funny comment here that it is deemed to be a bad Euro copy of a bad American beer. Sorry Wakie, that would be called urine. They brewed this stuff first. igel (196), New Mexico, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Sep 2, 2004 A golden color with low carbonation; has a nice white head with poor retention. Aroma of fresh mown grass and grain. The taste is hoppy at the start with a crisp dry finish like a pils, but the mouthfeel is seems smooth and creamy.
IMHO: This beer seems out of character for a typical pilsner: more medium bodied. Not a great balance of hops and sweetness; somewhat one-dimensional. Ringo (959), Loveland, Colorado, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Aug 22, 2004 I was expecting the typical German skunky beer in a green bottle. It wasn’t, but now I am not so sure that I wouldn’t rather have had the skunky brew; because I found the sweetish notes in this on the be cloying and almost nauseating in conjunction with the watery mouthfeel. I find a sweet, rather flat pilsener or lager to rank high on my list of disgusting things as far as beer is concerned. Take away the sweetness, and add a little more carbonation, and this could be a very good German pils - I can just make out a background of a good beer that is interrupted by its flaws. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 20, 2004 The head was foamy white and lasting. The color was pale straw. The flavor was hoppy and a little skunky to boot. I thought it was more like a Lager than a pils. But ok all around
