Slight dark cherry to the nose... dark prune/cola in the glass with a small tan-"ish" head. Thin roasted maple malt flavors, with a sweet, roasted, thin finish. Aromas and flavors compliment each other nicely, but the body could be a little more complex to suit the style.

Sampled on tap. Pretty tasty. Caramel and coffee aroma and taste. Very smooth but it is a bit thin. A very good beer to pair with German fair.

Dark brown colour. Fairly bland caramelly character. Light accents of crackers and molasses. Moderate body. Sweet finish. Malts are a bit thin. Pretty standard macro dark.

Bottle. Pours a deep amber color with a decent off-white head. Aroma of sweet and slight roasted malts, as well as some hops. Flavor is smooth, malty, sweet caramel, ok body. Average at best brew.

Draft at Prost. Big off-white head, nice deep brown, ruby-toned body. Clean and straightforward and easy to drink like a lager, but also somewhat unsatisfying that way with such a light body--the lager dilemma (you have to be in the mood, probably). Very thin flavor, but still tasty enough if you take a big pull from the glass.

Bottle. Medium brown/amber color. Average head. Some malt in aroma...and some in taste. A little bitterness on the backend. Uninspiringly average.

An enjoyable dark beer, hits the palate well and goes smoothly down. Tasty and delicous.
