Flavor is good and as expected for a dunkel, malty with a touch of sweetness and a bit of bitterness. Pleasant and satisfying. Label on mine says brewed by Spaten in Munich. $6.99 for a sixer. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 11, 2005 Beer pours light brown/dark amber with a dissipating off white head. Aroma is malty and wheaty. Flavor is way too light on the malt. Needs a lot more malt flavor. biz82 (1328), austin, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 6, 2005 Clear and reddish brown with a small creamy head. Chocolate malt aroma with some tea, seriously green tea smell. Decent body with a lingering toffee/coffee finish and a bit of bitterness. On the tart side with some caramel and raisen flavors. raymow (738), Bensalem, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 8, 2005 Not that bad - it reminded me of a German version of Newcastle Brown Ale (only not THAT good). Looked like a glass of iced tea and not too skunky as are most German beers. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 7, 2005 Pour is dark yet somewhat transparent. Looks like coke in the glass with a little bit of fizz. The aroma is malt and a little chocolate smell. The body is smooth with a little carbonation at the end. It is very drinkable. A small amount of malt flavor. A pretty good dunkel overall.
