Oct 2, 2003 On tap, a nice alternative to Oktoberfests at this time of year. Pours with a thin brown body and a thin, quickly disappearing tan head. Malty aroma followed by sweet, somewhat roasted, malt flavors. A nice staple at the local German bar, Steinkeller.

Sep 24, 2003 Excellent creamy head which lasts for a good while. Very nice aroma that is a little sweet with malts and a touch of hops. Color is a great medium orange/brown. Flavor is a little dry and bitter which I did no expect form the aroma. A plesant change. A little dark chocolate in there also. Finish is slightly bitter again. A decent dunkel.

Sep 20, 2003 Dark brown color. Small white foamy head. Aroma is bready, malty and sweet. A medium bodied Dunkel. Malts are mild, nutty and sweet. Hops are mild. Slightly spicy. A light tasting dunkel, a touch thin and watery perhaps, but nicely drinkable. Mouthfeel is thin. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Sep 16, 2003 I am sorry but I must decent on the common rating of this beer. This is liquid poop in a bottle as far as I am concerned. Aroma is malty and not displeasing. Appearance has nice tan head initially, mostly diminishing. Brown and clear in appearance and all in all not bad. The taste however is where I detect some nasty stuff. Initial sweet taste with a bitter finish. But somwhere in between i get a strong plastic taste which is quite displeasing. I recomend you steer clear of this one.

Aug 22, 2003 Brown appearance. Flavor is citrusy like sour grapes with a malt presence. Fairly weak palate. Enjoyable but not great.

Aug 14, 2003 Dark amber hue with little head and almost no lacing. Raisin, date, molasses, pumpernickel, and underline spices in the aroma. Strange sour and sweet taste initially followed by a moldy spice and then suddenly hoppy midsection, the finish was dry and smoky. Despite it obvious character flaws, this beer was not really that bad, heck, it was good because it surprised me in every glup. I drank many Dinkel-Acker beers when I lived in Germany.

Jul 21, 2003 Not much good to say here. Aroma, flavor and finish were all off. Color was weird (when the name says Dark, you expect a dark color - not cream soda). This is a confused beer that seemed like two different beers unwisely mixed together.
