Dix Orange Porter

Orange and chocolate blend well in the aroma with just a slight edge of roasted malts that keeps it from seeming overly sweet. Opaque dark brown body is topped by a shy tan head that recedes rapidly to a thin cover and ring. Orange and chocolate flavours are just a bit on the sweet side and overshadow the roasty character and bitterness. Medium body is a bit slick in texture and carbonation is a bit on the low side. Sampled on cask at the brewpub (Spring 2007).
